You make the room don't you, you have two rwb's who aren't of the required standard to be starters, both don't count as homegrown (unless Doc does i am not sure) one of them (Emerson most likely) has to go, if you can't find a suitable buyer at the price you want then you need to take the hit somewhere, seems exactly like a money issue really.

When Levy is (rightly) getting criticised for not investing sufficiently on the playing side, the focus should be on this type of mindset (“we need to get 1 or 2 out before we bring anyone in…”) as much as the reluctance to stump up fees. City, Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal don’t think like that - the worry about where to ship Emerson off to, or where to send Spence on loan, is a second order concern. And delaying a deal that could allow Conte accumulate more points in January.

Not sure it works like that, i am sure you can just register the new one and not register whoever is not in the squads plans, bit ruthless but we are where we are i suppose.

Not a chance of us getting that much back for him. We paid 25m euros and noone in their right mind will pay that, apart for us.

In all honesty i wouldn't want to cast aside any player in the squad like that, not like Emerson has been half arsing it, he just isn't at the level we need him to be in the position he plays.

i would hope the club makes selling him easier by dropping the valuation to allow the squad to improve but also giving the player some dignity.

Why do you think we'd get back what we paid for him given how much he's flopped? And who would pay that? We'll be lucky to get 15.

I suppose this is a great example of backing the manager, everyone assumes it is just about spending money or getting the managers preferred target.

When in this case its more about bringing in a player the manager does not deem ready whilst, also having another player clearly not up to standard here and thinking we are fine as we have 3 options there. As others have said 3 options on paper but couldn't be further from the truth on the actual pitch.

Ideally we get Spence the loan, get Emerson out by any fee necessary and bring in Porro. Will make such a difference having his quality on the right for us.
