I suppose O’keefe wasn’t wrong when he said our budget was £30 million for this window.
There's absolutely no way that a club with as much money as we've been pulling in, has a budget that small.
Bournemouth just offered pretty much that for Zaniolo!

Sanchez, Emerson, Moura
Romero, Porro, Kulusevski

Still a big drop in quality outside the first team. Would love a Moura replacement today. First team is getting there at least.

Well if reports are to be believed, then so far we’ve only spent a quarter of that on loan fees and doesn’t seem we’ll be spending much more.

Shocking how much Chelsea are spending, yet Enic is worth more, and we pull in the most sales from revenue as well. How is it Chelsea can spend so much and us so little?

im just trying to understand.

I think that's just been smart transfers so far, not us being restricted by a tiny budget.
Itk seems to suggest were trying for one more yet, so maybe it's going towards that?
With that being said, no matter how much we do, or do not spend this window, I just cannot believe that we don't have money there if needed.

Our figures will be out soon and they'll be pretty massive, by all accounts.

Because Chelsea is owned by a giant risk capital firm valued in the tens of billions, Clearlake Capital. Not only is there a difference in total capital, but also in the way they conduct business.
I couldn't find a value for ENIC that made sense but ENIC was comparatively small when they bought the club and grew along with us with much of their value and capital tied to the club itself, Clearlake is massive and manages a portfolio that's likely several times the size of ENIC's at above £70B.

It’s shows just how optimistic us Spurs fans are, when our first reaction to the Porro deal being a loan with obligation, is to think it’s to create more budget for another signing today. When we all know it’s because the budget this January is tiny as has been reported, and that it’s highly likely we’re done after Porro.

It’s the hope that kills us, and I’ll still be refreshing these pages all day! ?

There is already an excuse in place for not spending too much in the summer, as we need to make Porro permanent. :playful:

That first bit is the real truth to it. I think Chelsea's spend in the summer was the second highest by any club ever, and their January spend is already the highest there has been in January for the PL at least (probably the world). We really can't use their current levels of spending as a baseline to measure from - it is genuinely unprecedented.

Saying that, I am still confused myself about where our money is going at the moment. We must have a pretty tasty revenue but it doesn't feel like it's making its way into the dressing room. If we don't bring anyone else in today that feeling will grow, but there's still time so I'm not going to judge just yet.

Plenty to do in the Summer either way.

Yeah I just don’t get why we’re doing another loan, if we don’t sign anyone else today.

In the summer we’ll have to pay for Kulu, DJ (if he impresses), & now PP.
That’s already a fair chunk of the summer budget gone ??‍♀️

Just have to pray we sell everyone who’s out on loan too ??‍♀️

Funny how the word 'almost' gives him a complete out if this isn't the case.

I can ALMOST certainly guarantee you that if our plan works out today, Porro wouldn't be our last senior signing.

Let's see ??
Agree being told this morning could be two more in today! Levy and Fabio been in deadline day mode from early this morning. A lot of clubs coming to them for deals as well as agents.
I was told two is the max in. But if we are realistic it will be just the 1 in.
Not including the youngster we already feel we have wrapped up btw, the Chelsea lad already signed so a different one.
Levy is showing why he is stil the best person for the job IMHO no matter what comes out before the end of the season with investment from USA or QSI.
