Son's such a weird one in a way though. I have to admit I'm still certainly happy with his contributions to the team, even if he can be a bit hot and cold. What I find weird though is how he goes from having the touch of Ronaldo one game, to the touch of Lukaku the next.

Agree with this. He can be unplayable one week and completely out of it the next week!

He’s another one, like Kane, that I can’t wait to have a summer’s break - feels like forever since the majority of our squad have had one

Yep. To be honest I don't expect him to have his purple patch form every week, but it's just the contrast in his performances that can be a little weird. Like if his touch is off at the start of the game, it's normally off for the whole game. It's not a couple of bad touches early on and then back to normal. It seems like for the whole game the ball is either a magnet to his feet, or it's just always getting stuck under his feet.

Totally agree with this post. Theres no middle ground for him.

I guess he's a the kind of player who needs to start a game on the right footing. If he doesnt, he will lose all confidence and belief in himself. If he does though, that confidence and belief just seems to naturally ooze out of him.

It's his stamina, not a lack of confidence or belief.

When he's out of gas, he's really out of gas. And the first sign that he's not physically at his best is like you said, his first touch which is all you have to look out for with him.

I wouldn't go far as to say he's physically fickle, since I read that he's 4th worldwide in the most games played this season, but he's certainly one of those players whose minutes should be managed more carefully, because he won't offer much when he's knackered.

I reckon mentally he is struggling with being suspended for the Semi Final, once that game is out the way he will be on form again.

It's a shame we're so short of options as he genuinely doesn't deserve to play in the CL semi final after that. Absolute fucking madness, the squad is short enough as it is and he goes and does that. Idiot.

Boys, it’s part of the plan. Nice little 45 minute blast and now he’s rested and raring to go midweek!
