Agree - looks like a boxer in the 12th round. Legs seem to have gone to the point where he couldn’t pass at all.
There were actually at least 2 times when people were calling for the ball to jump start an attack and he just never saw it and kept dribbling. Reminded me of his buddy Dembele.

Decision making was very poor tonight and he was wasteful in possession. Hopefully it’s hust down to ring rust having not played for a while, but he looks miles off the 2016/2017 Vic

Sad to see the state of him now, a shadow of the player he was, will he ever get that back?

Surprised to see what is being written about him. His use of the ball has always been his weakness. His biggest strengths were tackling and being able to shield the ball under pressure. His tackling isn't what it was, but hardly surprising as he can't exactly be match sharp. Those judging him on lack of vision or poor passing have short memories IMO.

Strongly disagree. When he was on form alongside Dembele in 2016-17 his ball retention was incredibly impressive. He'd be getting pressed by multiple men and still come away with the ball somehow before finding his man.

I dont want to write him off just yet, as Winks and Lamela has shown it's worth supporting players who have just came back after a long lay off. I always felt he came back too quickly at the start of last season and I hiope that hasn't permanantly crocked our fearsome spaghetti monster.

We are all hoping he gets back to his debut season form. The worry is if the knee injury has ruined him as a top player. There's a good chance unfortunately that he is never the same again. A bit like Sandro when his knee went.

Has really lost that touch and passing confidence at the moment, but I think he just needs more game time. FA Cup, (Europa League) and Carabao and the odd EPL match against 'weaker' opposition should be enough.

Can’t agree with this. When we signed him I was positively underwhelmed as I had him down as a pure battering ram and a red card waiting to happen. However, I was so impressed with his all round play, his ball retention, his ability to work his way out of tight positions when under pressure, and his range of passing.

What we are seeing now is a shadow of the player we initially saw and it’s sad to see. It was the same last season in his first game against Chelsea, he was a liability and he’s never hit his initial heights since which is a real shame.

If his knees are shot then we should definitely sell to West Ham and he and Andy C can become best of friends.

Honestly, he should also get a runout in a couple U23 games and help build his confidence and regain match sharpness.

It's sad as he was brilliant 2 seasons ago. No way would Dier get a game with a fully functioning Wanyama and Dembele. Those saying passing was his weakness should look at his successful pass stats from that season. At one point I think he was the highest in the team as well as conceding possession the least.

He's never been a progressive passer though, he's always been safe with the ball. Dier was definitely capable of more on the ball.

Always liked him as a player but it seems he’s finished. He just can’t get over these injuries which is a massive shame.

Someone will buy him though.

Was a great buy at only 11m for his first season, but if that's all we get from him its a real shame and also kind of costly. I wonder if we knew anything about his troubles at the time if it's Ledley-esque..

Poor Vic can't stay fit.

Thought spam was gonna be his breakthrough back to regular squad involvement.
