If people thinks Bissouma positive vibes this pre season is what can make him a captain, then they seem to forget how well-liked and positive Son has been in the dressing room and club in the past 5-6 seasons.

Bissouma is a player I'm excited about, but surely he has to perform for us before he gets considered for captaincy.

All he has to do is be popular amongst the players, Impress the manager, show leadership qualities and work hard in training. He ticks all 4 of those so far.

We really are strong now in midfield and a revitalized Bissouma along with potentially motivated Lo Celso and Ndombele and of course Maddison could be like having 4 new signings . Add in Saar,, Skipp, Hojbjerg ,Devine and eventually Bentancur .
That’s 9 players for 3 positions which could be reduced by selling Hojbjerg and loaning out Saar and Devine if necessary. Though personally I prefer Saar over Skipp.

Loan out Saar and Devine and sell PEH but keep Lo Celso and NDom?
Why would you keep two players at the club who don’t want to be here at the expense of three who do, how does that work for squad moral?

Do you have inside knowledge that they don’t want to be here ? All I know is that they are top quality players with huge upside. Gamechangers. Which can’t be said about Skipp for instance. I’m fine with not loaning out anyone of those 9 players as long as we can keep them happy.

Bissouma and Sarr are the two players I’m the most excited to see this season. I think both of them are going to have a huge impact.

When he joined us, he admitted himself that he was not up to the required fitness levels.

When he was, he went straight into the first team. He then got injured and spent quite a bit of time on the sidelines.

After the injury, it's natural he had to get back up to fitness and by the time he had, Conte was gone.

Yes Conte was a tosser and caused a lot of problems, but he's not responsible for Bissy's bad season.

Didn't you tell Trix to stop living in the past yesterday? You might want to heed your own advice mate.

There's really no need to constantly put Conte/Mourinho references in every second post in support of Ange or a player.

It's time to move on.
Same can be said on Richarlison as well. So much revisionism going on. Both had fitness issues and both were brought into the team when ready.

Bissouma is going to shine though such a composed player and very dynamic. Loved his little give and go in the friendly.

Really wouldn't be surprised if he's named captain with all these quotes coming out these past days.

Ange has now been asked about Yves Bissouma

Ange: "He's a midfielder that can play in a number of areas for us - I don't see him as just as a number six. He's been really good since I've come in. He was one of the ones in from the first days. From day one, he has bags of energy, you know when he's around, and it's great. He's got a great personality and he's a very good footballer. So I'm enjoying working with him. I think he can play a big part for us."

James on Yves Bissouma...

"Bissouma is a very, very good player. I played against him at Brighton. I know he probably didn't play as much as he would have wanted to last season. There's a top player in there!.

"He's surprised me a little bit. He's a leader. He talks. For someone who has only been at the Club for a year and didn't have maybe the best first season, how he would have hoped, he is very vocal and he is very demanding. There is a brilliant player in there, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that partnership can develop."

Love it - if I was a betting man, I’d have a cheeky flutter on him being player of the season. I think he’ll suit Ange well
