His contribution of late reflects he is still carrying his injury.

He's my favourite player to watch in our team but it appears there's always an excuse for him when he has a poor game. Which is quite often taking recent form into account.

The fact that we know he does have a recurring hip problem though, and he's being taken off early successive matches does suggest that management are trying to get him through to the end of the season.

A club in the top 4 of the "best " league in the world should be knocking out the likes of basle in the europa league imo, disregarding there nice run in the CL. Feel this Europa run has cost us the three points v Fulham and possibly a point at anfield .

I do think sadly I'm going to finally admit it the Europa isn't worth our time of day if it means playing Sundays and gruelling tripd

Teams like Manchester United should be beating Basel too....oh wait.

Always looks different to when you're at the game or watching it on the box but I thought Daws was motm. He started off a bit shaky but as the game wnt on he got better and better. He was unlucky not to score from the header too.

Sigg, Holtby, Clint (even though I'm not a massive fan of his), Walker, Carrol and Even Hudd (don't let his pen blinker your view) done well. Ade put a shift in as the lone striker. His pen was poor as was his pass back shot in the first half but overall he done ok. Easy scapegoat hence all the abuse he is getting. My understanding of why he never came over to us last night, he was not the only one by the way, was that he knew he was going to get abuse. Quite a few amongst the support were spitting feathers towards him and again the racist comments reared their head again I'm sorry to say (I was sitting in B1 balkon).

For me Brad was at fault for both goals and had no trust or confidence in him at all to save any pens once we got to the shoot out. Our number 2 gk situation needs to be looked at as quite frankly Brad is not good enough, and is getting progressively worse with time. If we really want to challenge for the cups and insist in playing a number 2 gk in them, massively disagree with that btw, then we need a better more agile number 2 who also fits into our defensive system....

He said himself that he was taken off against Everton for tactical reasons though as he felt fine, I'm not slagging him off it's just not always something we can use when he has a poor game. As I said, he's my favourite player to watch in our side but he's cost us as many goals this year as any other player and I don't put that down to him carrying an injury.

You're probably right. Just so hard to swallow. Have been supporting this team for thirty years and I am always an optimistic glass half full kind of person.... but I think I've just grown tired of the way it always ends in dissapointment.

Strange comment from someone who has been supporting us for 30 years.
40 years for me and the Love affair is as strong as ever. Some of my greatest memories are of when we've lifted trophies, some of them have been when we have crashed out gloriously.
I love the club with or without trophies. They have provided me with heart rending moments and spells of total euphoria.
To each their own I suppose, but pack Spurs in?

Not until the day I die...... And even then I'm not so sure.

Morning. I could not agree more with your comment - it was indeed a strange comment, but it was how I felt at the time. And I cannot remember ever feeling like that before.

In a couple of days I will be back to my overoptimistic* self and vividly talking up the immense dimensions of the lillywhite future ahead.

*If in doubt about my credentials as an overoptimist check out the Dempsey is a Saviour thread.

P.s. regarding your last comment - I wonder what Spurs Community is like in the afterlife....

that
that was last season .

Does that make a huge amount of difference? It's not as if last season Fergie decided to just put out a youth team in all competitions for shits and giggles, is it? It was still an impressive win.

A good run and I cant argue with Vilas Boas and his wanting to maintain the Europa campaign. If we are in the Champs Lge we'll have the same i.e. mid week games and having to back up on weekends. So its all good preparation for the CL. I just thought we were unlucky. Without the sending off I believe we had a good chance to turn them over in normal time. The lads make me feel proud. A solid fighting display with 4 to 5 key players missing. I hope they go from here feeling proud and not despondent because I think it was a good team effort.

Whole heartedly agree with the sentiment of this thread! It was an excellent game, and we played heroically. I don't think anyone's too surprised that an English team lost on penalties. Not that it doesn't stop the stomach dropping feel when it happens. But anyway, another exciting European adventure, and another one to come next year! Hopefully on an even bigger stage!
