I will respond on the Keane comment later.

In the meantime lets keep this on topic.

Are we all agreed apart from Lennon?

Like I've said, I'm more concerned that Lennon hasn't taken a further step up rather than concerned that he has actually gone backwards. It was obvious that as a new face he caught certain defences on the hop and after a while they learnt to deal with that but the lad still has plenty to offer and as I stressed earlier, a lot of these players need a bit of patience after another season of upheaval in which they did, after all, bring home a trophy.

Lennon started as if he would go onto set the world alight and should have been on the picth for some of the 2006 world cup. Since then Lennon has regressed into a winger that sometimes turns it on, unsettles defences but rarely adds quality to the end of his unsettlement. I would very much argue he's gone backwards in respect that he is behind where we thought he would be at this time a few seasons ago.

Keane has turned from an enigmatic nomad with a relative impact shelf-life at each club he's been since wolves, to player whos goals per games can be rated now as prolific, someone who has increased his longevity as a player, improved statistically year on year interms of end product and can be considered good/very good in 70% of his games. There is a teir of players above him that hit top performance in 80% of thier games (torres/Gerard/firberglass etc) and only about handful in world football that do it 90%+ of the time (King/C.Ronaldo etc) Mr Keane in everyway imaginable has improved at Spurs.

Lennon improved at Spurs. Lennon stayed as good but defenders found him out. Lennon decided to spend his time in clubs. Lennon didn't improve any more. So, my conclusion, Lennon has improved since being at Spurs but has now stagnated because life is too easy for him and he has no urge to be the best.

now what the fuck is the point asking for a debate on a subject when, after all the abuse, somebody goes and finally says something constructive, you tell them to jog on?
what is the point in this thread being open???

Barmy neg repped me for saying that being top scorer over a calender year means nothing, because he said that it means he was good for two whole seasons.

Not true. He was good for the end of last season, and good at the beginning of this.

2 in 12?

Awesome.

I just did. Looked like 3 in 13 to me. Let me guess, you’re not impressed? Neither would I be. But then again you could put up very impressive stats for Keane’s goalscoring when the team were competing in the FA Cup, Uefa Cup, Carling Cup and trying to push up the league. I could do that but then again I'm happy with Keane this season so I have nothing to answer here.

Apparently he chose us over the scum

No, the rumour at the time was that Wenger was after a french based midfielder (many assumed it was Zokora) and that turned out to be Abou Diaby and we got Zokora.
