Before Ramos' arrival he was a joke of a footballer, living off the odd 30 yard cross field ball.

A defensive midfielder who couldn't tackle and a central midfielder that couldn't run.

And the thought of him a Zok filling that role this season made me feel queasy.

I have heard a few rumours about him slipping off the wagon and I really thought he would be sold this window. I was genuinely shocked when he was offered a new contract.

However the proof is in the pudding (or salad in Toms case) as he looks a different player now:

He is obviously putting the work in and hasnt slipped back over the summer.

Well done Tom. Now to work on the tackling.

I quite agree - it is completely over the top and I hope he changes it.

As for surprises - Ghaly is the big surprise for me - we keep batting him away - he keeps crawling back. Not sure why I'm surprised any more.

How can you be loyal if you jump at the first offer that comes along. Gardners been here longer, do you consider him loyal?

He scores on average 13.3 league goals a season. I would be surprised if anybody considered that return legendary.

He was alright, he gone, hopefully we get better.

What I do object to is interviews professing love and crocodile tears. Hleb kissed the badge at Barca in his first photoshoot, watch out Robbie fans.
