Robinson-6...nothing to do
Lee-6...not tested in any way
Dawson-6..looked shakey
Chimbonda-6.5...played well and broke up play
Stalteri-5.5....comedy value whenever he tried to go past anyone
Lennon6.5....no end product(no change) but kept going
Jenas 6.5....strolled around controlling game...this however is more to do with how bad Tel-Aviv where than how well he played!
Zokora-6.5...lots of effort
Malbranque 8....best player
Keane 8...scores all our goals
Berbatov 7.....scored a good goal

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

andf whys that funny, its true, malbranque was great, set both goals up and was always trying.

Also KPB was good IMO he got forward more, hassled players and did some nice passes unlike jenas who didnt really do much and just passed sideways and backwards.

listen forget the marks - we were

boring
disinterested (berba)
poor midfield
rubbish defence

but hey listen spain was not built in a day - he needs more time to get them fit and playing like they mean it - no one was going to flick a switch and suddenly we play smooth fast attractive football

thank god for the catering at the ground getting us through the hard times when the games are worse than the food and banter

Was only half watching (it was that dull, and I had to finish the paper that was my alibi for being at home today), but only Steed and Keano looked the part, with Stalteri putting in a decent performance considering (that he is rusty and a bit crap).

Ramos must be crying into his wallet.

Having said which, Eddie, we were altogether better than Arsenal against Slavia.

I can't be arsed with points, but:

Robbo: OK
Stalteri: OK
Chimbonda: OK after an alarmingly casual start
Dawson: meh
Lee: meh
Lennon: OK(ish)
Jenas: meh
Zokora: meh
Malbranque: good
Berbatov: meh-OK
Keane: good

Defoe & Bent: meh (might have hit OK with some service)
Prince Bong: meh

Robinson 6.5 Had Very little to do, still wastes the ball to much with his persistant punts up field, but came off his line and made one very good save when called upon. Still believe we have a good keeper in Paul Robinson.

Lee 6. Didnt have a lot to do, offered nothing in the way of going forward tho.

Stalteri 6. Not much to do either, made a decent challenge in the second half, when one of their guys would have been in on goal, got forward better than lee and to say he`s not playing regularly, he did pretty well.

Chimbonda 5. Don`t agree with the guy who said he shud play CB more often, he frightens the shit out of me, his passing his sloppy and lazy, other than being a major threat up the other end, he`s not good enough

Dawson 5. Starting to change my opinion of the guy, maybe just lacks experience, but he gets caught out far too often far too easily.

Malbranque 7. Was certainly one of only a few players worthy of a mention, and was surprised he was subbed. Looked lively and willing, if only Lennon had half his "end product".

Jenas 5.5 Created a lot of nothing. Not sure whether there a player in him or not.

Zokora 6. Always quite busy, not blessed with a great deal of skill tho

Lennon 5.5 I think he`d stuggle to cross the road.

Keane 7. Missed a couple of half chances, but you can`t fault his work rate and desire to do well.

Berby 5.5. Well he`s come out today and had his say, not sure who he`s fooling tho, good goal but other than that does not look overly interested.

Subs Defoe 5
Bent 5
The prince 5. None of them made much impact on the game, altho Bent should have scored, he scuffed his shot when round the keeper.

Don`t understand why he took Steed off, when they went down to 10 men they just got everyone behind the ball, loads of room out wide where we could have got in behind them, i`d have kept him on.

I think JR had decided it was a wrap and just wanted to do a bit of experimenting, and also rest Keano and Malbranque, who were by some way our most effective players.

Let's not start questioning JR's decisions like some of us did Jol's. Instead, let's assume that they both have far more idea of what they're about than any of us.

We are hard to watch sometimes, even when it seems comfortable. Can't say I enjoyed the game imensely. Was very disapointed that Malbranque was subbed. I thought he provided two very rare moments of spunk in an otherwise sterile game.
Lennon would have been a far more obvious choice but I suppose he needed the pitch time more than malbranque. Ratings:

Robinson 6 - SFA to do but made one very good save. He is still slow to come off his line and collect balls that the defence kind of stand there waiting for him to come for. It creates unease.

Salty 6 - Considering the fella rarely plays his performance was adequate.

Dawson 6 - SFA to do yet still didn't look great. Would like to have seen Kaboul with Chimbonda.

Chimbonda 6.5 - Still suffering from bouts of casualfuckingitus. But in general I felt a little better knowing he was there than the young duo.

Lee 6.5 - Did OK

Lennon 6 - I have to say that young lennon is becoming a bit disapointing. Time to kick on. Time to start influencing games a little more. Perhaps to much hope is resting on his young shoulders, if we had Petrov or AN other quick creative perhaps it wouldn't be such an issue.

Jenas 6 - Another slightly muted performance.

Zokora 6.2 - extra .2 because he did actually drop a shoulder a couple of times and leave a player in his wake which is what you have to do when they have two walls in front of the ball. Apart from that was tidy without being exceptional.

Malbranque 8 - Created the best two moments of the game.

Berbatov 6.75 - He says he loves us. I'm just not feeling the love right now.

Keane 7 - his faggotyness still pisses me badly. For the first three years of his tim here I thought he was 5'6' because he never got near headers. Turns out he's 5'10' but just shit scared of putting his head near the ball in case it hurts. Or his foot near the opposition in case that hurts. If he had a bit of courage and a bit more spunk he'd be almost a real no.10. As usual though he scored just to maintain enigmatic status.

Bent 5 - contrived to miss open goal having done well to beat a shit keeper.

Boeteng 6 - Looking OK. Like to see him on Sunday for a proper looksie.

Defoe 6.5 - Livelyish.

Taking Malbranque off would have been a huge mistake if we were not 2 up.

I'm not questioning Ramos but why do we have to assume that Jol has more idea what he's on about than any of us?

Especially as you are convinced that you know how to run a Premiership football club and a £100 million turnover business better than Levy.

So if it's ok for you to continously slag and question some very succesful individuals lke Levy and kemsley about their ability to run the club why are other fans not permitted to question somebody like Jol on his football decisions?

I would say that football decisions were a little bit easier than what the boys you constantly question have achieved.

Not a post that's meant to be sarcastic but seriously curious as to why anybody would think that fans don't have the right to voice an opinion or question how there team is being managed.

And for what it's worth I have no issue with anybody questioning the actions of Levy and or Kemsley even though I support them in the whole Jol saga and for the way they have managed the club in their time at the helm.

Thought that we were really poor today against a really bad team!
Our defence and central midfield were absolutely awful! These guys are trying to impress the manager ffs, showing him what they are made of.
On that showing there will be a lot of new faces in January!
I only hope that our forwards score lots of goals in the next two months or else we will really be in the shit!
If we play like that in the Premiership, against any team,we will lose!

Stalteri: 8 defending, 4 attacking
Chimbonda: 7 after staring shakily

Zokora: 7 harried alot and looked alot more interested
Malbranque: 8 our best player of the night

I hate to say it but you are spot on there. He is a very, very good player but what a player and what a captain he would be if he jumped wholeheartedly for headers and never shied away from a 50/50 tackle.
