I'm not so sure you have to sacrifice width in your midfield for him, but you would have to use him as a second striker as any premier league midfielder would destroy him in a CM role.

If we get CL, maybe he could be a useful signing to play in midfield with Palacios and Sandro, with Modric and Lennon outwide leaving Defoe, Crouch, Gudjohnsen or Pav upfront on their own?

I would prefer to see us make a cheeky bid for Scholes to be honest. Even if we just use him for one year, i think he could do a job and help Sandro and Huddlestone develop.

I doubt it, i would see Sandro as a direct replacement for Jenas, but better than him obviously.

As it stands we have a squad of only 3 natural central midfielders. So even if we keep Jenas that's only 4 players to cover two positions.

I would imagine we'll rotate it between a midfield pairing of:

Hudd | Palacios

and

Hudd | Sandro

and

Sandro | Palacios

But really it doesn't affect Hudd much, as either Sandro is better than either him or Palacios and so takes one of the first team spots, in which case that's better for us, or he isn't and becomes backup to one or both of the players.

I think Harry will also throw Kaboul into the rotation. Thus we'll not need to buy a 4th CM.

Old and past it. Can't offer anything more than a younger and more athletic Modric already does to our team. Next!

Never going to happen. I know him indirectly and he's well set up in Oldham.

thats a terrible spot mate.

Hud beat off jenas to get the second CM spot. Harry barley makes subs let alone rotates his best 11 game in game out. Blimey this is a manger that has had the success of bale and to a lesser extend Bently trust apon him not devised from his own mind. I think your expecations of him to use differnt players for different games when all fit, flies in the face of fact.

Hud has some skills that jenas does not (and vice versa) huds skills won in the end and proved a better partner for Wilson. Wilson will start most games (90%+) so his partner will be someone like Hud... however we hear that Sandro has Engery and physical presence AND can pass the ball short and long. Huds advantages over Sandro seem far less and far different to those advantages he had over jenas. Sandro will not have been chased and bought if he wasn't brought in with a starting role in mind.

Sandro in = Less hud = hindered development.

I'm not even judging harry for the move or saying what i want to happen but i think the evidence all points to one conclusion at the moment

IF we make the CL group stages,
IF we could afford him,
IF he wanted to come here,
IF he would settle for being a squad player for CL games,
then yes by all means. Other than that, no thanks.

Would be great, but he is a northerner through and through, if he leaves United it would be to one of Manchester's satellite town clubs.

Maybe a couple of years ago.

Now, though, a resounding 'meh'. We've moved on.

Scholes will go to Oldham if he ever leaves Man U.

Would probably play for nothing too.

He'd be foolish to go to England, but I'd love it for him to come. He's definitely one of the greats.

Yes it seems to be 2007 again :)

Unlike Gudj this is one that would send out a bad signal to our younger players - that we would rather gamble on an expensive, lightweight, off his peak import with no prem experience at all.

Even assuming that GDS and Tarrabt never come back we would have Defoe, Pav, Crouch, Gudj/Keane, Lennon, Modric, Krancjar, Bale and Bentley that you could describe as 'attacking' players with Pal, Hudd, Sandro, Kaboul, O'Hara for CM with Townsend, Obika, Mason, Parret, Bostock, Rose hoping to get a game...

No thanks.

He'd just never fit into the team.

I don't think even in his prime he would have been a good fit for us or the Premier League.

"He couldn't hack it in the liga? The multiple people who said this are clueless.

He was the main man in the best team that Villereal will ever have.

And he has never had pace, always a sublime player.

Not to say that he isn't past it now, I wouldn't know...

This is unlikely since we would have more than enough CMs. Also Hudd just signed a long contract so even less likely.

I think he's playing for Boca for free?

What a guy.

Not sure if the prem would suit him, but to quote Arry.

He's worth a punt
