Poch needs to take a long hard look at himself.

We need to do a "Chelsea". Nothing was working for Conte, suddenly he switched formation and it all clicked.

For us i think we need to go back to 4-2-3-1, which clearly worked last season - and stop playing fucking three at the back or no wingers.

Why do Poch wanna change something that big from last season anyways, make no sense what so ever.

He's trying that though. We've played different formations the last 4 games but he's not sticking to one for various reasons. If we play the same set up against Chelsea that we did in the last two games it will be a worry against the manager. He needs to clear his mind and go back to the 4231 set up that was so successful last season with the players at his disposal.

Has he become a little more cautious?

The burn out was blamed last season. Perhaps he wants us to keep ticking over, getting through games and picking up results before we start the higher press a bit later in the season?

We didn't set the world alight at the start of last season if we remember. We got going around this sort of time.

Injuries haven't helped and neither has signing two players who look lost on the pitch and so far haven't offered a great deal.

Last nights selection was baffling to be honest, but maybe he sees the league as his bread and butter? The Wembley games destroyed our champs league campaign in hindsight, but it's still not been good enough.

As frustrating as our side is right now, when all are fit, we have the best back 5 in the league. That's entirely down to Poch.
Unfortunately we currently have one of the worst attacks in the division too. Pochs fault? It's got to be if he is being credited with the defence I guess.

Certainly don't want shot of him but he has some questions to answer.

We have a team that is probably better than 14 or 15 other premier league sides and as such we can get away with some of the shite we have served up this season. In the CL there is no hiding place and even the perceived weaker sides are technically and tactically well equiped - we can't get away with the half arsed performances.

I think last season papered over some cracks, we lucked out with the big four generally underperforming and probably fooling everyone that our first 11 was good enough.

Work to do Pooch.

Things aren't going great atm . There has been indications that things behind the scenes may be a bit awry .

Mitchell left .Our frantic press left too . Then Poch started saying different things to last year ,I think partially to try and explain to himself the new situation . Last year he denied there were any downsides to midweek matches . This year he talks about fatigue a lot . In the close season he was saying he didn't need new players . Now he says he needs new players .

I've speculated before that he's been spooked by the intensity falloff of the press which he can't seem to reinstate . We no longer make goal chances for ourselves with our frantic press . It really was a formidable offensive weapon . As Toby said in close season 'Without our effort we are (just) a normal team ' . This is precisely what we have become . This has put the spotlight
on our comparatively unspectacular forward line technically and they are found wanting in scoring when not backed up by the intense press.

It looks like a mental issue because vs City , the press was momentarily back . Its the old problem...Motivating Millionaires in my opinion and Poch has lost his midas touch in getting players to make that extra effort. Can he get that back ? I fucking hope so.

This is the main issue imo...but also last year we surprised teams with our press . This year we aren't a surprise and counter tactics e.g. pressing US have been effective and shown up our shortcoming in getting attacks started from defence .

I am an avid supporter of MoPo. However, I am now sick of having to listen to him saying ''We have to learn from this'' every time we get a negative result. Just how long do we need 'To learn' ?
Patience with him is running out, he has to sort us out, and he has to do it quickly. Failing this, he will have destroyed all the good foundations he has built last season.

Yep that's pretty much what i said. I'm not saying we need to switch formation. Just go back to basics.

Agree. I can't stand listening to him anymore. It's always the same 3 sentences. It makes me sick.

"We need to do better"
"We need to find the right mentality"
"Good performance, but"

All over again - been listening to his crap for the last 2 seasons. Maybe he needs to be better at english.

Honestly unbeaten in the league not far of the top and our fans are running out of patience with the manager. You have to laugh.

- Summer window where Manager doesn't get what he wants
- Lots of squad players instead of a few quality signings
- DoF/Scout leaves
- Last minute inflated panic buy
- Managers reputation starts to decline

Where have I seen that before?

Its not all doom/gloom though. When Dier gets back into midfield with Dembele and Alli we'll be good again. It's just a shame the club didn't spend their money on 3 top players instead of wasting it on a load of average ones. But that wage cap is probably still the issue...

I understand why people want to defend Pochettino, but look the players body language... They don't even yell to each other. Look Monaco's second half set piece chance when Glikik (something like that) got that clear chance... Lloris just rolling his eyes, when he should be really angry... Doesn't even open his mounth, he had good game but he's Spurs captain so I have to say I'm not impressed with his leading skills... And I noticed similar (not yelling) things weeks ago, so it's not just one game.

Pochettino has clearly lost the dressing room. We all know what is going to happen.

Oh, and yes. I fucking hate that ****. Never liked him, but now after this UCL knockout he should be sacked in the morning. I know Levy won't sack him right now, but I fucking sure he's not going to be our manager next season.

Five fucking years we waited to be in UCL. Then this happens. :banghead::banghead:
Poch has lost the dressing room because the players aren't shouting at each other

What a fucking odd observation

The awful day after the abysmal night before. Still shocked at what I witnessed last night.
We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but something is wrong. It's been wrong all season. This unbeaten run is covering over huge problems. We are completely different to last season.
Can anybody explain the reason those players put in that performance last night. Is it because Pochettino played a weakened team? Is it the formation? Is it the tactics? How can you explain every outfield player not doing their job. Each player not being able to do the basics. Not being able to play to anywhere near their standard. This has happened on a few occasions. This was a must-win Champions league game and the manager and players didn't even look up for it. This is the highest level of club football and Pochettino has failed abysmally. Bottom line is the buck stops with the manager. Laughably he talked about lack of squad depth. Did you see our bench last night? He's talking bollocks. He fucked up. Take it on the chin and sort this out quickly or this season is going to go downhill fast...

Poch does need to take a look at himself, but so does the team involved in our player recruitment. Our summer window was an absolute disaster.

How did we let Moussa Dembele sign for Celtic for £500k and then we signed Janssen, Sissoko, for £47m. And then spent all summer trying to sign GKN who is nowhere near the starting 11. WTF went on there? Seriously how are we supposed to compete with the top teams if that's how we go about improving our squad. I'd take Dembele over all 3 of those attacking players that we signed.

Janssen is a battler but he isn't that tall and has no pace to threaten defences at the top level. GKN seems to have a bit of pace but quality on the ball seems average, add to that Poch clearly doesn't trust him. And Sissoko just lol.

Monaco I'll give you but Leverkusen have been a total mess this season which anyone who watches Bundesliga footy will tell you.

Not disagreeing with the rest of your post, which maybe is your main point.
But Leverkusen have been great in the Champions League clearly a very strong side as they proved last season, raise their game in CL when it is a high point even when they struggle everyday in the league. Kind of like Leicester.
Club Brugge is ridiculousy weak, Copenhagen have for them a strong side now but are still of scandinavian quality, Porto as underwhelming as they'e ever been too.

Id say Leicester's group is like if Leverkusen were them, then there's two CSKA quality teams, and then Gillingham for final spot

We had a whole summer to add quality. Our signings were awful. I can now see why Mitchel left. He wanted Michy Batshuayi (proven in Europe) and we end up with Janssen who has had only 1 good season and was signed because of potential.

I'm very relaxed about things, I didn't expect us to make a big impact in the CL and I didn't expect us to beat Monaco. Our group is much harder than Leicester's. We got to the CL last season because teams underachieved. In the league we are just 4 points behind Chelsea, won 6, drawn 6, no defeats.

Some adjustments are needed but no need to panic, I can see us coming out of the game with Chelsea with at least a point.

Unbeaten in the League and the meanest defence. Sounds like he's getting all of the ducks in a row quite nicely. Need to get the Eriksen / Alli / Kane threesome firing again and things might start to look an awful lot rosier.

Right. To me it's like this.

We are unbeaten in the Prem League. We have obviously found the Champions League too much for us at this stage in our progress.

Poch is one of the best young managers in the world. He is human, makes mistakes and is still learning.

We have a bright young squad of players. We can't afford to splash the cash that the others in the top4/5 of the League do.

Things aren't perfect. We could be a lot worse off.

Some of this overreaction is beyond belief. Are we 13 year old girls that didn't get enough likes for our selfie on Facebook or rational people prepared to have a bit of patience with a club that's building something.
