Being real the collapse at the end of last season made me question Maurice.

There is no flow, no swagger, no excitement about our play this year at all.

We have played well in 2.5 games this year and the 2 were more to do with off the ball than on (City and Arsenal) the .5 being the second half Stoke.

Not saying Mairice should be sacked, but I am concerned. Loop has Liverpool playing after half a season. Maurice is now close to 2.5 seasons. Where are we? Well out defence (1st choice 4) have improved, although not dramatically. The great improvement of Danny Rose began under AVB. Danny has just kept up that improvement.

Our football at the moment is awful. I have only attended the City game live, but we were fortunate there, especially as the all important goal was an own goal error. We didn't excactly play them off the park. Off the ball we were excellent that game, but I wasn't excited.

Trippier looks like a lost sheep.

The glaring issues are for me, the awful passing across the back, and the transition into midfield is awful. Too far apart by miles. Leaves us easy to press at the back.

The other is passing and movement of which there is none.

We are only unbeaten in EPL by luck really. We haven't really looked that great against anyone.

Needs to be at least given the season, but I'm more concerned by Maurice than impressed. I like him as a person, in the media etc, but football wise I'm really not that impressed.

We haven't improved much. That is most concerning. We look boring to watch, and frustrating.

I actually quite liked AVB it seemed we at least had a plan when he was here. Crap football, boring for much, bad man management but at least a plan. Right now I'm not sure we even have any kind of plan.

Do you REALLY want Poch gone?

He clearly didn't see CL as the priority, presumably wanting to grow into a team that constantly qualifies before taking it more seriously.

I'm as disappointed, ashamed even, that we fall out at this early stage in a group that shouldn't have posed any problems, but I still see Poch as the man to take us forward - we need to grow together, team, manager and fans - and take the hits on the way to world domination

Sorry, but if a team qualifies for CL footie then it better become a priority.

Why the hell do you think in seasons past CL qualified teams have fielded almost unrecognisable teams in the CC and FA Cup.

Poch just reversed that trend and fielded a weakend side. Rogers did this in Liverpools ill fated campaign, and Poch more than matched that achievement last night.

They think they remember but they really don't remember

I do remember and it wasn't all bad. This years football really isn't any better to watch than Andre's version.

At this time I've seen nothing to convince me that Maurice is actually a better manager than Andre. Although I really hope he turns out to be.

I think expectations need to be adjusted. The last CL team we fielded had Bale, Modric and VdV. Bale and Modric now anchor the team thats won 2 of the last 3 european championships. Who do we have on this team in that class? Maybe Kane, who we just got back.

The summer signings were crap. Wanyama is ok but he isnt going to win anything on his own. Jansen, dunno maybe he'll come good. I feel like we could have signed someone more effective than Sissoko at half the price had we not waited until the last hour. Thats probably on Levy.

I understand why people want to defend Pochettino, but look the players body language... They don't even yell to each other. Look Monaco's second half set piece chance when Glikik (something like that) got that clear chance... Lloris just rolling his eyes, when he should be really angry... Doesn't even open his mounth, he had good game but he's Spurs captain so I have to say I'm not impressed with his leading skills... And I noticed similar (not yelling) things weeks ago, so it's not just one game.

Pochettino has clearly lost the dressing room. We all know what is going to happen.

Oh, and yes. I fucking hate that ****. Never liked him, but now after this UCL knockout he should be sacked in the morning. I know Levy won't sack him right now, but I fucking sure he's not going to be our manager next season.

Five fucking years we waited to be in UCL. Then this happens. :banghead::banghead:

Both Monaco and Leverkusen are far better than any team in Leicester's group.
I actually think we could have gone through their group using full rotation,
it's no stronger than most of the Europa League groups we've been in.
Monaco I'll give you but Leverkusen have been a total mess this season which anyone who watches Bundesliga footy will tell you. Truth is we're not really as good as we thought/hyped up to be. We had a chance to make huge strides in the summer but just like summer of 2010 waster that opportunity.
Almost £60m spent but on exactly what....? Not a single 1 of our signings improves our team from last season. Victor does a steady job sweeping up at the back but that's all he does. He knocks the balance of the team as his passing is limited compared to Dier.

We look almost like we did in his first/second seasons and the first 6 games of last season when I wasn't convinced by his impact on our on pitch performances. (See my criticisms in the main Poch thread)

I'm not sure he's coping with the pressure of all these hard games very well and maybe the players have lost a little faith in him. This hasn't been helped by a shocking load of injuries and abad summer transfer window. I think that's forced him into bizarre team and tactical selections. He will need some more players in January but we won't sign anyone I suspect.

At the moment the season could go either way and the result whatever it is against Chelsea won't matter that much. It's the run of games after when we've a lot of winnable fixtures that will put the pressure on him. We need wins against the likes of Swansea, hull, Burnley and Southampton. Not winning those games and it's going to be difficult for everyone.

Most certainly we have taken a backward turn it looks like the end of season collapse is still hanging over them with below par performances.
It looks again like we have failed to push on after much promise with poor summer signings and even poorer displays.
On the plus side going out of Europe even the europa might help league results although in all honesty can we really see us getting top four, between 5-7th is where we will finish imo we are not good enough right now for anything else until we spend better and get back our swagger.

I'm really tired of him blaming the players. They clearly don't know what the current tactical plan is. Three formations in three games, players being rested in the Champions League, last years best CM combo in the league dismantled for the manager's pet, changes every week.

Every quote from Poch is that 'we need to try harder', 'we didn't show enough passion'.

Perhaps its time to try a different communication approach, this one has stopped working.

We've been very unlucky to lose Toby and Kane as our two most important outfield players, with Alli and Lamela also missing games. With that said, however, losing Toby didn't mean we needed to rest Jan for today. You make the best of what you have, sometimes the best laid plans have to be changed. Shot us in the foot.

Wow.

Klopp has a plan in six months, but we'll ignore what we showed last season because its gone pear-shaped. Whose to say the same doesn't happen to Klopp in 12 months time?

Don't bring up AVB as being a more serious manager than Poch and expect to be taken seriously.

Yes, we're losing games and need a re-jig - but we've spent 2.5 seasons playing pressing football and upgrading academy kids. If that's not a plan, I have no idea what qualifies under your rules.

Going to very interesting to see what Potch does now. Does he just sack off the CSKA game and field a team similar to the EFL cup team... Basically do our best not to qualify for the Europa league so we are then in the same position as Liverpool, Chelsea and possible Man Utd where we only have the FA Cup and league to concentrate on for the rest of the season. Then he gets the chance like conte & Klopp do to work with the players week in week out on the training ground concentrating on just one game a week.

The minority calling him to be sacked get a grip! Yes Potch has to shoulder a lot of the blame for what has happened over the past two months and with our summer signings. However this is the time we need to back him give him the chance to turn the situation around. Not just turn on him at the first sign of a crisis.

* forgotten Liverpool and Chelsea are still in the league cup as well.. Not sure that will effect them too much in the grand scheme of things though

So after criticising the Europa league in the media whilst at Southampton and at us, purposely putting out weakend teams that resulted in the Dortmund debarcle, Poch is now stating that this would be a blessing. You couldn't make it up.

We need to do a "Chelsea". Nothing was working for Conte, suddenly he switched formation and it all clicked.

For us i think we need to go back to 4-2-3-1, which clearly worked last season - and stop playing fucking three at the back or no wingers.

Why do Poch wanna change something that big from last season anyways, make no sense what so ever.
