If this lunch date is true then He is definitely approaching Poch for the UTD job.

Why on earth would it be happening otherwise.. I'm a bit worried to be honest.

The lunch was way too public for it to have been anything but just lunch. People are getting themselves worked up over nothing.

But you can see why surely? People know what football is like and what Ferguson is like. It might be innocent but there's reason to wonder if it isn't.

I'm sure this was all above board. Look at it from Man Us position. A few hours before a crucial game for both LVG and ManU, the club's prime ambassador is undermining the club's position.

Its a bit worrying . No doubt would Fergie would be telling him how United are the best club in the world.

Van Gaal stays another year, so does Poch and off he goes to United next summer with a few of our young players.

Worst case scenario obviously but it would not surprise me.

No panic. He's about to sign a new bumper deal.

I was at a legends dinner last night with Jennings, Hazard n Anderton. Hazard was saying there's no way he's going to leave for man u or anyone else.

Yes could simply be telling Poch not to sign the new contract (he still has 3 years?) and move to united in 1 or 2 years.

Lets be realistic United in a Couple of years would be right up Poch's street. They have a lot of promising youngsters coming through. Unfortunately I don't now see Poch signing te new deal. Hope I'm wrong.

I think its blindingly obvoius why he was meeting him! Anyone who tries to kid themselves into thinking that he wont leave as soon as united come calling is seriously deluded.. Ferguson will be telling him about how united also believe in his philosphy and can give him everything spurs can and more.. To be honest it makes it all the more galling that it was done in public if you ask me.. Poch was right, shitty small club mentallity letting our brightest/best go to bigger clubs.. it will always be the case (yes ive had a complete fucking melt down)

Anyone saying he wouldn't leave us for United because they're a club on the way down are morons.

Nothing to see here. United will continue their path of Liverpoolisation without our glorious leader.

I agree with the last two posters. This was discreet tapping up and the fact he was there suggests he's interested. I think he was a bit alarmed to discover photographers outside- you can see it in his face.
He hasn't signed the contract yet- why? Was last week's announcement a hurry up message to united?
If they sack van gaal I think they will approach him and I think he will be very interested.

Totally nothing to worry about. I'd be far more concerned if Ferguson had met with Pochettino in London when United were'nt playing down the road that evening. This basically a meeting between peers, in addition Ferguson is chair of LMA. I have no doubts Ferguson would be whispering some sweet nothings in Poch's ear, but I have no fear of losing him to another English side unless something drastically changes in his relationship with Levy. Madrid/Barca/PSG could be a concern, but those would be more a move for a few years down the line. Call me romantic, but I get the impression Poch wants to see this side grow and over-see our move to the new stadium.
I would also pretty much guarantee if Poch did the dirty on us for another English side Levy would instantly refuse to do any transfer business with the new club - so the united fans I work with (I live in Manchester) can forget about the BS they are focusing on this morning about them taking Poch, Kane, Alli, Lloris. Anything to distract from the fact they've just fucked CL qualification and could still finish 7th.

I wish fergie would just fuck off and concentrate on his horses. Always sticking his big red bacon nose wher it's not wanted. Even retired he still has this power and potential to ruin what we have built so brilliantly at spurs and it's fucking annoying. Yes I know spurs have played the meeting down and chances are it's nothing but no one can tell me fergie ain't going to be in pochettinos ear in that meeting waxing lyrical about manufuckingnited. Fergie has many times spoken highly of poch so it's pretty obvious the devious red nose **** is up to something

I agree. If Mourinho takes over at Old Trafford then no issue. However, if LVG sees out his contract I'm sure Fergie will have at least told Poch to have a think about things in 12 months time. Here's hoping for Mourinho to be announced shortly after the cup final.

Sources saying we knew and gave our blessing. It's fine by me...he can talk to Ferguson all he wants and learn from him.

I honestly would look anyone in the eye and firmly believe he has no interest at this time to go to United.
