At the velodrome don't they have a team psychologist / therapist who office is position specifically so the Olympians use him/her. I wonder if Spurs do something similar.

Pooch seems a top guy and the players seem to really like him.

He kind of reminds me of Jol in some ways he seems to have class.

Yes the manager/head coach must set the tone for the club
especially with so many young players
who need to develop their careers the right way.
He maintains his dignity.
doesn't look for exuses or play the blame game
at least not in public
which is exactly how it should be.
Unlike Mourinho or even Wenger at times.
Like the man.

Being spoken to by folks in white coats would be last thing Hugo would do.

I remember him refusing to come of the pitch after being knocked out.

So he is definitely a tough and stubborn guy, that would frown on being seen by a therapist.

Not saying it wrong per say, but the old arm around the shoulder and whisper in the ear from Poch may help a player like him more I suspect.

For sure we need him and the entire team ready for the Spammers tomorrow.

They've had the better of us the last few times.

I think you have missed my point, Not saying he needs to speak to anyone in a white coat I just wonder if when they designed the new training g ground they did what they did at the velodrome. I think though spurs in this day and age would be mad not to have councilor /therapists / someone who players can talk to, yes I am sure poch is very approachable his only one man. These guys have a lot of pressure, a lot distractions I am pretty sure Allan Dixon is a good mentor / father figure as well but if the Olympians cyclists all use there a lot and we won a shit tonne of medals it's something to think about. This might sounds silly but the world is changing Think how many schools child's life's could be Improved, marridges saved, kids life's changed if there is someone good avialible and it's encouraged / socially acceptable to use them. I know a lot of people it's helped including my marridges everyone has tough times, look at Gary speed, Gazza. RS arrived his wife mis carried Chadli lost his father, these things affect form. Deli Ali had to be fosters/ move in with a guy at MK I think it was as his mum could not cope. I am just saying yes these guys are paid a lot, but to keep them performing well it's psychological as well.

I hate this attitude, there is nothing wrong with seeing a psychologist especially after a traumatic experience. No one is safe from trauma.

I remember hearing that after Robert Green committed a howler while playing for England that all goalkeepers have trauma counselling as part of their ongoing training, apparently it's to do with their ability to bounce back and shut out mistakes when they're surrounded by baying fans doing their best to put you even further off your game when you've publicly mucked up.

Leaving that aside, I'm with you, physical illness is tolerated but the second that someone suffers stress or depression some see them as weak. If you have cancer you see a specialist, why wouldn't you do the same if you've suffered a trauma?

So just casually miss where I say "Not saying it's wrong per say"

There is nothing wrong with psychologists, if one is required.

Just saying Hugo and the staff may have felt he didn't need one.
