Surely you want a captain with a brain? Walker doesn't appear to possess one. It was also comforting to see we supposedly tried to get De Sciglio, I imagine with that and the signings of Dier and Yedlin it suggests Poch is far from convinced about either Walker or Naughton

More like doubts over his fitness. Naughton is shite so it's not an exciting prospect him being our number 1 for feasible .

Lloris. Simple because I'm not sure if there's anyone else in the squad who could be potential captain material who isn't free from being potentially dropped at some stage in the season.

Lloris is pretty much owning this thread.

I think he really deserves it. He's our best player, IMO, and is very experienced at being a captain. He's done it at club and International level, captaining some world class players in the process. I know a lot of people don't like captains so far removed from the action but these days they're not the generals they used to be. They're just as important off the field as they are on the field and we need someone with a determined, winning mentality. Buffon is a perfect example, an excellent captain for both Italy and Juve. Lloris should be our captain.

Could be Fazio by the end of the season I reckon. Definitely Lloris for me as it stands.

If Fazio proves himself as a competent defender and first choice then he'll be captain eventually imo.

Got to be Lloris at the minute though. Not fucking Kaboul though please.

Why would you have that opinion already of Fazio?

It's weird but when I look at him I think leader. Seems a commanding centre half who's a bit of a bastard. There's a video of him somewhere motivating the other Sevilla players as captain.

The only question is if he's got the ability to set an example to the rest of the squad. This was the problem with Dawson imo. Never really had the ability to question others, and a bit too much of a nice guy I guess.

The people that voted for Lewis Holtby as Captain of Tottenham Hotspur (even before he left) are the mindless drones you meet in pubs that say "I think Adebayor will finish top scorer in the Premiership this season", "I think we'll DEFINITELY finish in the top three this season, really do, guaranteed (even now)", "We should never have got rid of AVB, think he would've come good for us", "Capoue would make a good Captain as he's midfielder"...

F**k me....I swear some of these voters can only be the spawn of a West Ham fan Brother and Sister.

Should be a no brainer - Lloris.
Kabs most likely will lose his starting position to Fazio in the coming weeks.
Kabs most likely will captain frequently in EL when vorm plays.

Verts all day......i think there is a really good player waiting to come out, he doesn't always look that focused, i think the captaincy would be the making of him....

I voted for Lloris, despite near confirmation of Vert's new contract. I'm a fan of Verts because when his on his game he is Rolls Royce. When the chaos of last season hit, Verts wasn't interested unfortunately. We know contracts mean nothing but I still don't like his agent spurting out that he will reconsider whether to stay at Spurs next summer and then give him the captaincy.

Contrast that to Lloris. He has been the ultimate professional. He stayed focused last season when most others didn't. He stayed strong. We don't have a Dave Mackay (I'm not that old but from what we've all heard) or Graham Roberts. In the absence of that Lloris is a beacon and shining example of how to behave.
