Just read about platini's plan to host euro 2020 all over europe, with one city to host the semis and the final. To me the only city with 3 stadiums who could manage this is London. Anyone else think wembley, scum palace and our shiny new stadium will get the nod? Levy must put it forward imo

I fear you may be right.

We'll never hear the end of it from the Spammers...

Yeah because that's a huge achievement!

I'm quite content with finishing above them every year and having won over 4 times as many honours as they have.

I couldn't care less if our new gaff held any games other than our own. No way in a billion years does London alone host two semi-finals and a final in a Europe wide competition anyway. England would probably only be able to put forward one stadium, and that will of course be Wembley.

If West Ham get the Olympic stadium they will have sold it by 2020.

And if the NDP turns out to be as good as it could be then it will certainly run the Emirates close.

But let's be honest... Platini won't let England host the three most important games.

He'll do his best to make sure Paris gets the final two tournaments in a row. Cock.

The Olympic stadium will also be downsized by quite a lot, not sure what the final capacity will be in the end. I could certainly see future club European finals being staged there though.

Seville has 3 stadiums that each hold over 50 000

I can see the final of Euro 2020 being at Wembley with the 2 semis at Hampden and Cardiff

The same Platini that has awarded the CL final to London every 2 years?

olympic stadium would probaly get it over us.

That has a long way to go before it is viable, West Ham said they will spend £100million to make it work but even that is very optimistic as the foundation may need ripping out and the fact that it hasn't got many facilities like Toilettes and etc. means they would do very well to achieve it for that price and they haven't secured funding either

Even then, a proper football stadium would be a better choice than converted one and especially if one conforms to the category 4 standards set by Fifa for a stadium, our biggest competition for a stadium will be Chelsea because they got more funds and most likely will have a better design

The first time we got it, was new Wembley's maiden CL final and we only got this year because it was our FA's Hundred year anniversary

There was also talk of Wembley getting it every other year from here on in. I agree there's been some ridiculous decisions made by FIFA in awarding championships to the highest bidders, but I don't think in UEFA's case it's as bad. I can see the 2020 format working in London's favour and it being awarded the games suggested in the OP.

I don't however think our new stadium will get any of the 3 matches now that there's the Olympic Stadium to contend with. With any luck the land under the Emirates will give way before then though and those tossers will fuck off back to Woolwich.

F**k 'em!! let them have their souless empty bowl! :)
I agree, I dont think the stadium will offer much atmosphere for football. Bayern Munich's old stadium was similarly formated. Any stadium with a track takes away from its own atmosphere.

I am pretty confident that the olympic stadium will not be picked as in terms of Fifa requirements for stadiums ours and the emirates would triumph it and the olympic stadium to be honest is a bit shit for football hence why we wanted to build a whole new one instead of making changes as it would be very expensive to convert anyway
