So has Bissouma.
He's hardly played for us.
He has however proved to be one of the best midfielders in the league with Brighton and he struggled with injuries last year. Lo Celso has proved very little in the Premier League to date.

There are still a lot of player decisions the club have to take in the next couple of weeks - outside of Kane.

Some players definitely seem like they are on the outs: Rodon, Sanchez, Spence. Injuries to Ndombele and Bryan have probably not helped their case - they need to show something in training.

Decisions on Hojbjerg and a few other players will be interesting. I think Hojbjerg goes for good value. I think Perisic could find a role here. If Ange really thinks Davies is a LB - I would sell Reguilon and let Davies back up Udogie.

We’ve got good midfield and attacking options. Throw all our money at the defence. Bring in a real top class centre half who can read the game and organise the team once our attacks break down, we’re going to be open to counter attacks this season with the style we’re implementing. We need someone who is disciplined and I’m not convinced by any of the current defenders we’re linked with. Time for our scouting team to earn their money.

I know the opposition were weak and there's a LOT of work to do but the past two matches have given me confidence that we can push on without Kane. Never thought I'd say that.

Ange has to say that, though. He's not going to openly say "this is the A team and this is the B team" to the press.

I'm sure there will be tweaks and changes before the Brentford game, but the line-ups heavily imply the first half team is the one he's shaping up as our 11.
I would not be surprised to see up to 4 of the "1st XI" not in the starting line-up v. Brentford.

Davies, Kane, Porro - then maybe Lo Celso over Sarr, or Solomon over Kulusevski. I am ambivalent over the last two, but could see either player combo start.

Mourinho will be whining that he would have won the Tiger Cup if he was given the chance to compete in the game.

If I had to guess I'd say our most important midfielder this season will be Bissouma who I think is going to be a monster for us. I hope you are right about Lo Celso, but he has it all to prove.

I would honestly say Sarr and Maddison will have equally huge seasons under Ange.

Very exciting times

All of these are true - and yet people are shocked when I suggested Bentancur won't automatically walk back into the XI when he is fit.

Bentancur is a very good player - but he now has serious competition for minutes with Sarr, Lo Celso, Maddison and Bissouma. the good news is 2 of those players will be on the bench and still get decent minutes off the bench to keep everyone fresh. Skippy too.

This is a good problem to have, by the way, and its not a knock on Bentancur, but a credit to bringing in Maddison, and Ange getting more from Bissouma, Sarr, and Lo Celso in a new system.

If Ange really thinks Davies is a LB - I would sell Reguilon and let Davies back up Udogie.
He thinks that because he actually is a LB. Everyone in the world knows Ben the GOAT Davies is a LB. It’s just that he’s so goated that he can do a job as a left sided CB in a back 3. Even with our lack of games this season I’m expecting Davies to get a lot of mins at LB.
