I love that Ben was smart enough to turn it round and ask they guy how he got to where he is, because I wondered that too. It's such a niche thing. He has interviewed some major names, notabley Beckham. He seems like a lovely guy (not surprising if he has been round the Korean culture most of his life).

I think there are so few young westerners that have mastered the Korean language (one of the most difficult to learn in the world) and truly understand Korean media culture, that he's got a captive market as so few people can do what he does. Targeting footballers is smart too as it's a real niche - none of the North Americans creating this sort of content would really be able to use that angle.

I also wonder if training this week was done at odd hours because of the weather, and more film work/analysis was done during the day.

But it does seem like ages since we had any meaningful content.

(I doubt Conte is worried that Rangers see how he prepares the squad, and given that we expect to implement the training against Rangers, it will be public knowledge to everyone else then.)

Think so. In the few chances he had at the start of last season it looked like he had a decent delivery on him from wide. Still think there's something in him that we shouldn't discard.

thinking ahead to match day 1 against the saints. Looking at the squad as it is today, I wrote down a list of players I thought might make the squad on the day including subs.

I believe we will have 9 subs of which 5 can be used on the day? (Current rules?)
With that in mind I wrote down a potential set of players to fill the first 11 and 9 subs. (See below). What surprised me was how many players who have been in or around the first team won’t potentially even make the squad.
many of those players will either be loaned out or sold, but a fair bit of talent in there.
That’s without making any further signings.
below that are players who won’t even be putting on a tracksuit.
What’s your thoughts on who will make that first day squad?

Spence won’t start, and depending on the health of others probably won’t make the bench.

Lucas does not make your list, but he will be on the bench.

ETA - and Richarlison is suspended week 1. So that would help Spence make the bench.

Davies really comes across as very intelligent. Also with his leadership, I think he will make a very good coach after he retires from playing.

Can’t believe season starts in 2 weeks. It’s so weird I do find by end of season apart from Spurs games I’ve generally lost interest in watching most football unless it’s big issues being decided. But 2 month break and boom ready to go for another 10 months and a World Cup.

I would be amazed if Spence starts a league game in the first month of the season.
