We look such a strong powerful team and that’s only gonna increase once Perisic Bissouma Spence fully up to speed. We will simply bully many teams out the game.

I would be amazed if Spence starts a league game in the first month of the season.
I’d be very surprised if there are more than two league starting debuts against SCBC. Perisic and Bissouma, are my guesses. But I’d be equally surprised if we didn’t see Ricky and Djed at some point.

Your training sessions look so intensive, can you talk us through why you do that?

Maybe for you it is intensive training, for me it's normal training. I used to have these type of training sessions in the past when I was a player and when I was a coach. Maybe it was strange for you or for the people that think that the players go out to the pitch to have fun. The fun is a consequence of when you work very well and during the pre-season it's important for us to reach a peak of fitness and to start the season in the best possible way and also to avoid injury.

To avoid injury, particularly muscular injury, you have to train your muscles with intensity during the training sessions. But I repeat for me it is very normal and it's the same in other countries.

I really love our Brazilian trio, theres a video of them dunking Sonny in the ice bath after training

Also looks as though Richarlison has settled in quickly... Lol

I don’t think an L is worst thing in the world. Will focus minds a bit remove any complacency and hopefully keep some urgency to add a flair player to this squad.

I hope we never bother playing a Mourinho team in pre season again. What an utter waste of time that was. The only thing I can gain from it is just how ecstatic I am that we got rid of him.

Over the years I’ve concluded there are just two things you need to avoid at the end of pre-season: A lack of fitness and over-confidence. I don’t think either are an issue for us ahead of next week so I’m quite calm.

Bring on SCBC! Cant wait to be there.

Based on the pre-season games, Højbjerg and Bentancur remains our strongest CM pairing at this point in time. I expect Bissouma to push for a starting place but for now the other two have a really good partnership.

I think it was a worthwhile exercise. Competitive with a physical edge. And good practise for playing against the 2/3s of EPL teams who will park the bus, as well as against teams with gamesmanship.

There's always something to pick up from any game. In this case;

1) We haven't worked out how to break down stubborn teams.
2) Harry Kane shouldn't have free rein to take whatever free kicks he fancies.
3) Lenglet could be an excellent signing. Sanchez can't play LCB which we already knew.
4) Mourinho can make any game of football like a visit to the dentist.
5) No matter how bad we think EPL Ref's are, there are some out there who are truly appalling.

Travelling to Israel is a bloody hard way to find those things out though.

I can’t find a 23/24 thread, but making sure I’m not missing something obvious?

God even the way tanguy turns up and walks is so god dam lazy
Yea I just can't square how Ange wants his teams to play and how he described the strong personalities of Maddison and Vicario with Ndombele ever being a success here compared to say Bissouma and Royal who I think will thrive under him.

Well...
The other side of the coin is that Tanguy had his best performances when he was told he'd never make it and he went on to run the Lyon midfield and make man city look silly.

Maybe Ange has those magic words that can ignite the fire under him. Maybe, but highly unlikely
