Interesting debate - but taking Levy out of the equation, if you had to identify one catalyst as the most pivotal that led to our rapid decline / implosion that saw us eventually tumble to finish 8th in the table what would it be ?
So many to choose from
1. The meek way we fell out of the League Cup to Forest ? (Least likely IMHO)
2. The meek way we lost in that FA Cup tie away at Sheffield Utd (Up there as a contender)
3. The lack of ambition shown to find an equaliser in the second leg at home to AC Milan in front of a packed home crowd for the majority of the game. (Another big contender).
4. The worst possible news and outcome after the Leicester debacle away that saw one of our most influential players ruled out for months with a nasty ACL injury (Bentancur). (Very significant contender).
5. The loss of a two goal lead to Soton away which opened a tirade that followed from Conte and his departure, which turned on the flip of a coin with a most debatable penalty given in injury time that blew the fuse (Was this the straw that broke the camels back) ?
6. The wrong hurried appointment of a replacement re 5 above ? (Did this accelerate the slide ?)
What embarrasing and severe on the pitch debacles let alone those off it that all followed after that, are too many to name.....
