Actually forgot they were in the champions league before.

They've ran out of steam towards the end of the season but interesting to see who they buy. Don't think any team would like playing them in SJP

Will bw interesting to see how Newcastle do now.

I personally think they are a bit ahead of schedule and a Europa League journey may have helped them in the league.

I believe this because they now will have to go from the highs of CL nights versus Madrid/PSG to away at Luton (potentially).

Its not so easy to manage that. Players get bang up for the CL game but lose that excitement.

Harder to manage the mentality.

Under Redknapp we suffered a bit in the league in that second year and had some bad results after CL.

I'd also say teams will now play Newcastle differently. They won't catch anyone by surprise.

Under Poch we went up a gear because Poch solidified the midfield and was able to move on some of the players who'd helped but hadn't really the quality to stick with a team developing.

Newcastle will probably look to the market to improve that but it's not easy to navigate that change.

The fans expectations will raise and there will now be pressure on Howe to do it again.

If I could see us having a good clear out, really improving the backline, Slot coming in and no European football, I'd say we would have a good chance of finishing above them.

I do think all of Arsenal, City, Liverpool and United aill be much better than is though.

Simon Hooper the ref letting Oil Slavers foul repeatedly without showing a card. So fucking annoying the free ride they get
