All this focus is on Qatar and I can now see it being called off but what about Russia 2018? You could argue that the people of Russia deserve a world cup as they're a huge country and love their football, but if they bought the votes as well then that one should be called off too.

I'd even say if it's proved that Qatar or Russia cheated like this, they should be banned from the next couple of World Cups and Euro/Asia cups. The only thing is, this could just be the normal way that every major cup or cup final host is chosen so they might just be the first ones to get caught.

Although almost the entire FIFA exective is bent I haven't seen any evidence that Russia initiated any bribes. Which would be a first, i'd admit.

No neither have I but to me it would seem strange to put your 2022 vote up for sale but not your 2018 one which is sooner so is possibly more valuble if you're a multi billionare. I think they voted for both at the the same event didn't they? Hopefully it will be investigated by someone honest and the truth will come out either way.

More than likely the Russians just set up a load of honey traps to get the votes they needed, why waste cash on that bunch?

You mean the morning of the vote all the delegates woke up with dead prostitutes in their hotel bathrooms and a Russian man telling them that he can make it go away? That actually sounds quite plausible.

Pretty sure that delegate-vote correlation between Qatar and Russia was high. Obviously just a freak occurrence. Some of them weren't even prostitutes.

Kinda clear they have to move the WC. The weather, the deaths, the bribes. Disgraceful they got it in the first place. The US should get the 2022 WC. And whoever made the bribes and took the bribes should be banned from football and thrown in jail.

I don't know if the USA should just get it handed to them, I think there would be another "vote". I'd go for England (not biassed at all :D) or Australia first although I have no doubt America would deliver a good World Cup.

England should have it. It would be a bad joke that in the last 30 odd years the USA got to host 2 World Cups to England's 0.

Give the World Cup to England and you don't have to worry about whether the stadiums will be ready in time, or about high death tolls of migrant workers, or whether homosexuals, Israelis, etc. will be welcome, or whether the local populations protests about the high costs will turn into riots & disrupt the tournament, or if people are even going to turn up to the matches.

A World Cup in England would be a lot more special than it would in the States where it's not even the third biggest sport.

The US is the most equipped. We did a womans world cup on 6 months notice and it was flawless. Plus, the US would have won anyway if it wasn't for Qatar bribing everyone. Australia only had 1 vote in the first round and knocked out.

Anywhere but Qatar. In saying that, they'd probably give it to Bahrain instead. Nix the entire ME for now just to be safe.

It's a shame the stadiums aren't plentiful enough (those with capacity anyway) for scandaweegia to co-host it. Would be a belting WC imo but I'm biased in spending a fair amount of time in that region. Cracking booze, very easy on the eye females, and males for our female brethren, and a nice sunny but coolish summer. Perfect for football.

Due to health concerns, we'd prefer to keep our blondes to ourselves thank you very much. On a sidenote, would this allow Sweden to participate in the WC? Hmm, I like it.

I can entirely understand. I've already bagged my blonde Scandinavian though so I'm alright Jack. I'd be there purely for the booze and football. And the cheeses. The delicious delicious cheeses. :hungry:
