right first & foremost this is a post to instigate a decent honest debate & to ask some questions that i believe need to be asked...

the modric situation & his obvious new found desire to leave has come as a surprise to most of us seeing as less than a year ago modric was quoted when he signed his 6 year deal as saying he was not interested in any other club & he could win everything he need to with spurs...

cue our end of the season & harry redknapp`s insistance on saying things like "5th is as good as it gets" etc, etc.....

do we wonder why Luka`s head has been turned, do we wonder why he questiones our ambition when our own manager constantly belittles our abilities as a team, our history & even our fans??..

Harry constantly undermines Daniel Levy in the media including the day after Levy spoke on sky sports saying the modric saga was over when he decided it was a good idea not to re-affirm the clubs stance on Luka by saying "it will be difficult to keep him", "the lads head has been turned"..."id be lying if i said the boy was happy".....etc, etc..

again today he is in the news of the world bigging up chelsea...saying how great they are, how amazing john terry & fat frank are etc...

he is the manager of tottenham hotspur ffs...why does he constantly look to undermine us?...to undermine DL...

he expects Luka to be loyal (or perhaps he doesnt) when all he does is slag off our chances & big up chelsea football club..

ive never liked him as a manager, this is well known, but irrespective of the footballing side his constant bleating to the media & his constant undermining of our club, chairman & fans has gone to far imo..

if you want to look at why modric wants to leave spurs...then look no further than our manager..

there is no mythical agenda here...just plain hard facts, radio & tv interviews from the man himself...

he has to go imo....now!

This is getting so old.

Chelsea offer more in every department than we do. Accept it. Move on.

Maybe we should have an anti Harry sub-forum, so that those of us who, whilst recognising Harry has some failings, actually appreciate he can be a decent manager at times, don't have to read this shit every second day.

Modric wanting to move to Chelsea is to do with money, to do with agents, to a certain extent to do with potentially challenging for honours next season.

Do you honestly believe anything any manager says to the press? Especially ours?

it has nothing to do with his abilities as a manager...are you blind?

"5th is as good as it gets"

"spurs fans who dont agree with me are idiots" (thats me then)

"chelsea are amazing"

undermining the chairman at ever opportunity...i could go on

this is nothing to do with his management ability

it wouldnt be a problem if it wasnt

a) directly contradicting our chairman
b) abusive to our own fans
c) bigging up our london rivals who coincidently want our best fuckin player

the bloke needs to just toe the line for gods sake..

he must be driving DL crazy

Yes, I am blind, it's a miracle I can guess at what you are writing, hit the quote button and touch type a response.

He likes the sound of hiw own voice, he likes speaking to the media. Which one of the other threads on exactly the same subject couldn't you be bothered to write this in.

Or are you now making a direct link between Harry's mouth and Luka wanting to leave.

Because not even Luka has done that.

So, are you a mind reader now?

mate i simply can not see how Harry bleating on about how 5th is as good as it gets for us & how amazing chelsea football club is whilst constantly contradicting everything our chairman is saying regards modric is in any way helping us keep either Luka or any other top player for that matter..

can you?....its got jack all to do with his ability as a manager..

he is employed by spurs, he should toe the fucking line!

you sure you wanted a discussion not the chance to slate harry?

I get the impression you have never heard of "mind games" and "reverse psychology" by the way.

All of those comment to me say, Levy get your wallet out and we need better players

Yes harry has made some mistakes as manager but he has taken us further than most managers would be able

You're also overlooking the comments where he said 2 or 3 quality players and we will be challenging for the title

I don't see how he has contradicte Levy in any way. Perhaps as beats1 suggests it is a hint to sign more players, probably right.

But I don't see it as undermining anything. Every manager has a character to play, if they were completely themselves the criticism would drive them mad.

The last time a manager truly spoke his mind was when Benitez gave that silly interview and look what happened then.

He's repeatedly also said with a couple of top signings we can challenge for the title.

We haven't made a couple of top signings, so why would he say something like "we can win the league". He's putting pressure on Levy to get the players in.

What's he supposed to say about Chelsea - that they are shit?

Coincidentally he has said that only a truly shit manager would flop at chelsea

Harry Redknapp should limit his comments to the press...it's over kill now. We don't hear other premier league managers talking as much as he does, its all self promoting IMO he should remember that his employed by THFC, be careful not publicly challenge the Levy and be in contempt as he seem to do....ie demanding players, going on sky stating spurs can win the league then going to the radio stating spurs fans are idiots for not being happy to finish 5th.

right first & foremost this is a post to instigate a decent honest debate & to ask some questions that i believe need to be asked...
If you want a decent, honest debate then I will expect you to be open to a discussion of the merits rather than simply a "it's all Redknapp's fault" agenda.
the modric situation & his obvious new found desire to leave has come as a surprise to most of us seeing as less than a year ago modric was quoted when he signed his 6 year deal as saying he was not interested in any other club & he could win everything he need to with spurs...
You could blame Harry for this.

But what's more likely. Harry upset The Rodent with his comments, or said Rodent likes the sound of £150k a week?

cue our end of the season & harry redknapp`s insistance on saying things like "5th is as good as it gets" etc, etc.....
I agree that it was a bad statement. But I just think Harry is a bit sdim with these things. He's simply says it how he sees it and sometimes that means that he puts his foot in it. A good trit? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Whatever we you look at it, from one perspective, getting to the last 8 of the Champions League was indeed the best season we've had. From another some would say that finishing fourth was the best season and ultimate this season comes in second because of the failure to repeat. It's clear open to debate.

do we wonder why Luka`s head has been turned, do we wonder why he questiones our ambition when our own manager constantly belittles our abilities as a team, our history & even our fans??..
He has belittled our team, nor has he belittled our fans - and if you are referring to the "idiots" comments, he has said he was just referring to those fans who phoned in to Talksport. Do I think think it was a wise comment? No. But to I think it belittled the fans or players? No.

Again, this is Harry just being his usual "say it how it is" self. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But, in this instance, I agree. He should keep schtum until the transfer window has ended.

again today he is in the news of the world bigging up chelsea...saying how great they are, how amazing john terry & fat frank are etc...
I don't think that it's a crime to recognise that for a team to compete regularly in the CL their players must be half decent.
he is the manager of tottenham hotspur ffs...why does he constantly look to undermine us?...to undermine DL...
He does not "constantly look to undermine us". Such a statement suggests a methodical determination to drag Spurs down a peg or two. However, just this past week he was saying in his many soundbites to SSN that he wanted to win the league with Spurs. Does that qualify as undermining us?

he expects Luka to be loyal (or perhaps he doesnt) when all he does is slag off our chances & big up chelsea football club..
Where has he slagged off our chances? He has said that in order for us to compete we need to strengthen like Liverpool are doing and also retain our best players. How is that slagging off our chances? Seems like a dose of reality to me. Unless you think it's better for our best players to leave as we continue to rely on the likes of Defoe.

ive never liked him as a manager, this is well known, but irrespective of the footballing side his constant bleating to the media & his constant undermining of our club, chairman & fans has gone to far imo..
This is disingenuous. If he is constantly undermining the fans, the club and the chairman I would appreciate a substantive list of instances to support your contention, instead of just one or two examples.

if you want to look at why modric wants to leave spurs...then look no further than our manager..
Yes....the fact that Chelsea have mega riches to pay him, a proven CL record and have just hired Mourinho's protegé are all irrelevances.

there is no mythical agenda here...just plain hard facts, radio & tv interviews from the man himself...
You haven't offered up plain hard facts. You have referred to only two interviews. Can you please give us a detailed list of examples if your argument is to be supported.
he has to go imo....now!
Yes, because managerial changes will convince Modric to stay.

i give up...

its nothing to do with his management or any agenda etc....ive already written this more than once...

i think its legitimate to question wether a manager employed by my beloved team is right to knock the club so readily?

im obviously wrong & i bow to your superior knowledge...again

No, he's winding AVB up by saying he must be a fool not to succeed at Chelsea. It’s called psychology, mind games, putting pressure on your opponent.
