Could they not have imploded a week ago? Bastards!!

Their players were never going to implode against us

They wanted to go to a cup final for their own personal glory

Throwing their manager under the bus for league games, leading to his potential sacking, was always their plan

Treacherous mercenaries, the lot of them!

Trouble is, when we are under pressure to win and especially a perceived easy fixture then we invariably fail to show up.

This is pure confirmation bias, every game is a pressure game but for some reason people don't count the games we win.

Case in point ^

Had we lost last night you could absolutely guarantee people would have been banging on about typical Spurs, cant win when the pressure's on, the bottler thing would have been thrown about too, but we win and...not a word said, hmmm :meh:

Exactly.

Some fans are a bit spoilt by just how many games we actually win nowadays. They only seem to count the games we lose as important and take for granted just how much each and every game counts.

Well, I did and have said in the past, that you can never write this team off when the chips are down. That's during games though, not the whole package. It's undeniable that we struggle when there is more pressure on us than normal. Doesn't happen every time of course.

We are their cup final, just like the goons and spammers. Amazing how many teams absolutely hate us!
Good!. If you are not hated to a certain extent you don't matter. There is a very fine line in football between hatred, respect and jealousy.

Bro that's football, teams lose games and drop points sometimes, look at City and Liverpool this week. :D

We should be absolutely proud of our manager , players & club , not played a "home" game since 2017, a fixture list and kick off times designed to physically exhaust our players , enormous bank loan that needs paying off . All of this deserves more than the paltry 29000 who turned up last night for a team that are still in touch with the top two , still an outside chance of the title just got to win at Anfield , Etihad and Stamford Bridge , easy !!

yeah but both of them can't lose :D so question is, who do we want to put more pressure on, Anal or Citeh?

to be honest I don't care what happens to other teams. that is out of our control..... If we win all of our remaining games then we put ourselves in a position to win the league - and that should be our aim! Whether it happens or not is the ride we get to "enjoy"....

Totally agree.

[However there is a small part of me that hopes we don't look back on a time 'when we had the best manager in the Premier League, the best striker in the world and arguably one of the best attacking support in Alli, Eriksen and Son, the best CB pairing in our recent history' and regret not having won the league.]

All felt like it was getting a little worrying. And then suddenly after yesterday, we're 7 points clear of 4th and only 2 behind 2nd.

I think this really goes to show just how quickly things can change. Fight for 4th so far from over.

I agree the fight for 4th is far from over but I just don't think it involves us.

I think we will be fine for top four but I think we're still involved. - We play Chelsea on 27/2 followed by Arsenal on 2/3. And those matches are sandwiched between the two matches against Dortmund. Any points dropped before then and they could be breathing down our necks. Luckily they both have Man City to play before then!

And if they both beat Manchester City it will be Manchester City fighting for fourth

after Dortmund we have a 10 day break, considering most of our squad are involved with international matches this will be the 1st time we will face a Burnley match feeling slightly fresh as we have been playing twice a week since September I believe I heard the other day.

if we can match the results we had last season against our remaining 14 ops we will be heading for 87pts and most probably be finishing 3rd:mad:

Would love to have a memory like that to really top off this period of our history, I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't. But I also remind myself that with Poch we are really building foundations to be able to challenge and win things with more regularity in the future.

I'm in no way excusing our semi-final losses or saying that winning a trophy isn't important to me - it really is. I have just been quite content to watch our team evolve into one that can go toe to toe with the best and hold our own more often than not.

If we can pick up maximum points from our next two games before that break I think we'll have put ourselves in a great position, especially as Arsenal play City soon and United play Liverpool. It will be win win for us. If City and Liverpool drop points then our top 4 rivals don't lose too much ground on us (although the gap remains healthy) but we get ourselves in the title race again, if City and Liverpool win those games we give ourselves loads of breathing room.

With only 12 games remaining, a rest in between and the likely return of Kane and Alli shortly afterwards we should be able to look up and not down.
