Kane, Sanchez, Rodon, Reguilon out = £120mill
Muani and Tapsoba in = £120mill

Much less in total wages too

Yes this would be my go to as well.

I can live without another "top" CB if it meant we got in our first choice to replace Kane and our first choice CB. Look for opportunities at CB and CM from there

In fairness, we’ve spent 120M on Kulu, Porro, Vicario and Maddison. I’d have preferred different priorities, but that’s the 2nd biggest net spend in the EPL this window.
This has been done to death but if your claiming Porro and Kulu this window then that means he spent nothing in January and about 20 the January before but I'm pretty sure they have claimed it's been spent previously.

Whatever way you factor it in the level of ambition compared to the promises made pre stadium doesn't come close to matching up

To be fair, if you’re counting Kulu and Porro then you’ve been completely fooled. Payments are amortised over many years anyway, just because we push the first payment back a year doesn’t mean it counts towards the next window. We’ve signed Maddison and a cheap alternative to our first choice keeper.

Kulusevski was an option to buy. We had every right not to buy him this summer. That money had not been spent contractually until this window.

I don’t like the way we’ve spent money. We’ve been incredibly wasteful and too often way too late and focused on the wrong priorities.

but we can’t just say there’s zero spend because we don’t like how it’s been spent.

net spend is sort of a silly figure anyway as it in no way matches outlay or accounting, but we do have the 3rd highest net spend in the EPL over the last 5 years.

it’s unfathomable because of how disastrous our selection and total lack of strategy has been, but we have shelled out $.

With Porro and Kulusevski on this window in stead of previous season we still spent 139m euro net that season, and are on 125m current window.
If you don't think we're spending money then I don't know what to tell you. Third highest net spend last 5 seasons behind Manchester United and Arsenal.
Significant increase since our stadium income has begun to roll in. If we have another 50 on top of Kane money then it's a very heavy investment and on a level we've never been before.

Now whether it's been spent well is another matter ..

That is actually wrong.

Virtually all transfers are done via payments - but they do not hit the books until the obligation is incurred - in this case, this summer for Kulusevski and Porro. They would not be on our books prior to that.

(And amortizing payments is not the same as when you actually make the payments - two different concepts)

You do realise the football we’re going to play this season we’ll probably score enough goals without Kane. But without decent, quick CB’s we’re going to struggle!

I want two top CB’s and I’d even take Richy upfront if it meant that happening!
i would rather sell kane + hojbjerg and make sure to bring in all 3...kolo muani, vdv and tabsoba...i would rather not to get gallagher/veiga to replace hojbjerg...we have enough midfielders...give sarr and skipp more playing time...

I think this is spot on. We’ll score enough goals, I reckon.

But we have to tighten up or we’re done for.

Two CBs has to be the focus. Anything else is just a bonus

Chelsea are above us as well, if their spend last season and ours in 18/19 are properly considered. Recently they've been like us, though, in spending randomly and largely unsuccessfully. But where they do far better than us of course is in sales, whether of academy or otherwise acquired players- it's not just a Saudi thing.

Our ambition, relative to competitors, is slipping. Newcastle have already swallowed us up, on the pitch, as have Villa- on and arguably off. Levy must arrest this slide by buying what we need, not just his perception of the value of the deal.

Some fans laughed last season when we were still fourth, when some like me said eighth or ninth was coming. It's coming again unless he spends big AND wise. Anyone accepting this and the ticket prices is a mug- nothing more, nothing less.

We 100% need an attacking player to replace Kane if he goes, whether it’s a striker or a wing forward.

I struggle to see Levy spending the £70-80m required to get Muani personally.

If we move Son to striker to compete with Richarlison, then we should sign an Ange style LWF:

1. Mitoma
2. Williams
3. Doku
4. Lauriente

Everyone on here saying about moving Son to striker needs to remember his age. We need a younger striker whoever that maybe.

More like best not to get hopes up on him. No way we would spend the money required to get him and some may find it hard to swallow but why would a player followed by so many big clubs come to such an unstable club who aren't even in Europe
Because we’d triple his wages.

He was literally a free transfer last year and now everyone wants us to buy him for £80m. 😳

Personally not sure he is that good or worth it.

Have you actually seen him play? This guy can do everything and played a part in the World Cup final for a reason.
