Lloris..............6+......While there's Hugo there's hope.
Walker............5........Some hope.
Alder...Toby....7........Signs of hope.
Verts...............5........It's the hope that......
Davies............6........Not a hope.
Mason............6+......Here's hoping.
Dembele.........6+......We all live in hope
Dier.................6........At CM? Little hope.
Chadli.............6........Hit and hope.
Lamela............5........Abandon all hope.
Kane...............6........Hopeful.

Alli..............................Got my hopes up.

If things go wrong we could be in the relegation zone by tomorrow tea-time.
Very poor first half. We are so slow and pedestrian. Another clean sheet (not)
Mmmmmm.....good thing we don't have a player call Bob!

Glad to see the forum not blindly praising Kane as usual, it's good to say how it really is, regardless of his status amongst the fan base.

Didn't have much to go by today and doesn't have quality around him but still maintain my initial and early views (even throughout his break out season) he just isn't that good.

When I say that good, I'm talking the elite bracket of strikers... I don't feel he will ever come near being as quality as the likes of Suarez or Aguero.

Definitely needs competition and someone to bring on for him given his condition and lack of goals at the moment, Berahino seems a great option.
Seriously mate, I really think you need to watch this lad. I think we really have a young lad that will be a star. His hold up play, he wants to take players on and has the confidence to do it, has a good turn... I genuinely think he will be a star player.

How should one rate? I think dangerous errors matter. Poyet and the analysts on Norwegian TV blamed poor organization (big distance between the lines) and the fact that Davies challenged (and lost) the header prior to the goal. Lamela had a terrible back pass. Verthongen gave away a penalty. Last match it was Toby. Before that a Bentaleb missed pass.

Avoid these errors, please.

I find it baffling that anyone has lamela rated as anything other than the worst player on the pitch

He was dreadful

By no means the only player underperformong but he was certainly the worst

He chased the ball around like a puppy dog, tried to make challenges and just gave away free kicks. Never looked remotely capable of doing anything and was rightfully substituted early into the second half (in fact he never should have seen the second half)

I've always liked him and always wanted him to succeed but now like I did with Soldado (who I also liked and very much wanted to succeed ) I'm giving up on th3 faint hope I had that he will improve and come good for us

I do think it's probably best for both the players career and the club itself if he is sold and replaced. We could get someone in who actually is worthy of wearing the shirt and he can get out of the epl and veg what was a very promising career back on track before he becomes ruined

Hugo: 7 did everything he could today, would have gotten an 8 if he had kept a clean sheet.

Davies: 3 horrible performance. Mahrez humiliated him today. Lots of errors, lots of fouls and wayward passes. Almost gifted Leicester a goal with a really bad pass.

Vertonghen: 3: probably the worst performance of anyone today. Almost gave away a goal and after that a penalty. Didn't look good today.

Toby: 7 i don't remember any mistakes and i don't really remember any Leicester players troubled him. Very solid, but most important 90min without any errors.

Walker: 6 he was there i guess. Tried a few runs, but nothing spectacular. Ok defensively.

Dier: 6 same as walker. I'm not sold on him, i don't think he offers the protection and passing a DM should have. He is just kinda there, but he gets a nod because he is our best header when we have a corner.

Mason 6: The same as most of our other players. He is just kinda there without really doing anything. He usually have some good runs or a long range try, but not today.

Dembele: 6 I don't rate Dembele as highly as others do. I think he is all showmanship and dribbling and no end product. He almost always have the same game. A few non threathening shots from the outside, a few nice dribble moves and a hell of a lot of ball hogging.

Chadli: 6 he goes missing, but he always chips in with a goal or an assist. Today it was an assist. I honestly don't mind wingers who goes missing, as long as they deliver. Though today he was maybe a little to invisible and pretty much only the assist went right for him today.

Lamela: 5, but close to 4! He did not deliver any more from CAM than he does as a winger. Nothing really works for him atm, i think he had one good corner to Dier and that was pretty much it. He can't dictate the match and he looks completely lostnoutbthere.

Kane: 6 he tried and he always gives 100%. He didn't seem to be on the same page as the rest of our offensive players. They couldn't really find each other and he mostly had to do it himself.

Subs: Not enough time to give our subs a rating, Delle Alli got a goal so that was nice and he must be close to a starting spot.

Erm...nope. Was lucky that he didn't (as it seems he is in most matches these days), but still nope.
He did give it away. It was handed back to him due to a mistake by the ref. But he still gave it away.

Dembele 7 - Had a proper go at them and made the opposition have to think about leaving Kane for a minute. Still has no idea what he wants to do with the ball when he gets himself into great positions.

Agree with this.. as much as that was the best game we've seen Dembs have for a while, it still (bar the two early shots) feels like it wasn't to much avail.. he doesn't create anything, doesn't deliver much from his short drives, rare forwards passing, no creativity.. yes he keeps the ball very well, multiple times 1v2 or 1v3 and still comes out with the ball.. aaaand then he passes sideways or backwards. Really doesn't do it for me.

Sorry @Norse but that's clearly not correct. I agree that there should have been a penalty given against him, but there wasn't. The referee never blew for a foul, nor did he point at the spot. Therefore no penalty was given away.

As for "it was handed back to him" , I don't even know what you mean there. It suggests that the penalty was given and that the ref then changed his mind, but that also never happened.

Semantics. Obviously the ref did not make the call, but he should have.

No he didn't - he should have but because of the error he didn't
You are a bit more literal than me. Or maybe I've been damaged by that terrible song by George Michael: Last Christmas I gave you my heart, the next day you gave it away.

The message is that errors should not be judged as much on their outcome. Some errors are small, but badly punished. Others, like the ones from Verthonghen (shirtpulling in front of the ref) and the unforced back pass by Lamela, are big, but this time the team escaped. Not so with the decision by Davies to challenge.

In the long run, probabilities will show, and bad errors be punished more often.

The biggest problem this season to me seems to be mentality. After United's goal we fell apart, before we were dominating the game. After Stoke's first goal we collapsed and it was easy for them to score a 2nd. After our goal we went to sleep and allowed Leicester to score immediately. These are all signs of a horrible mentality.

Chadli: The records will show that he got an assist today. It was a good cross and for that it should be commended. Sadly, every other time he had the ball he decided to shoot from stupid angles and ridiculous distances. He also exposed Davies for 90 minutes when his flank contained their most dangerous player (and when I watch the highlights I won't be shocked if Chadli was just stood watching as Mahrez strolled into our box. Selfish and lazy today. Such a shame, because he's a magnificent physical specimen and a truly gifted player, but I lost count of the amount of times I swore at him today.

Ha! Good call - they actually highlighted him doing just that on MOTD!

What the absolute fuck are you on about.

Not being as good as Suarez or Aguero means you're "not that good"? And therefore if you're not as good as Suarez or Aguero then you're not good enough to start for Spurs? And you saw this early did you? You saw that Kane might not be as good as some of the greatest footballers the world has ever seen? Well blow me down and remind me to ask to you to pick lottery numbers - what an insightful prediction. It's almost as though no-one here has ever actually suggested that he might be as good as those players isn't it?

What the actual fuck. One of the most royally fucked up posts I've ever seen on here.

Even in the very brief highlights we gave the ball away under no pressure countless times and looked all over the shop.

Ali held his run well, pleased for him to get the goal. Jan incredibly fortunate to not give away a penalty
