Exactly what's wrong with this site now. Too many people that counter opinion with abuse instead of a reasoned argument.

Gave MOTM to Davies but thought that was Dier's best performance for the year. Very good.

Thought Dier was excellent today, he needed to show a lot more this season and so far he's doing that

I know who is NOT my man of the match, Dele.

A win but the second half performance has flatten it for me. Play like this against better teams and we will be trounced. Despite scoring 4 and keeping a clean sheet, wasn't convincing to me.

I would have kept on Eriksen to play with Son instead of Dele

Credit to Davies but I will give Kane MOTM again
I agree. We were sloppy 2nd half. Kane should have gotten his hattrick but the boys switched off.

Poch agrees with you as well. he was so pissed on the touchline.VAMOS!

If this is Man Utd under Alex Ferguson, players would be slaughtered. The 2nd half perfomance just doesnt cut it.You want to be champion? This is not good enough, remember Chelsea? Burnley? 90minutes, 90 minutes

we played for 90 minutes and won 4-0. If we were playing a stronger team we wouldnt have switched off but we did what we needed too to win the game.

United had the biggest, best squad in Europe, they could afford to go all guns blazing every game because they generally had 5 world class players on the bench.

United now will get an early goal, sit back on that lead for 70 minutes and then roll in another 3 in the last 10 minutes to make it look like they are stomping all over everyone.

The game management was fine today. I thought it was Dele's best game this season but he's still bang out of form. Dier needs to start passing into runs instead of feet and he'll be fine. Kane - it was all too easy for him. Ben Davies is really showing what he can do now.

Fair points, But as I said or implied I think we switched off too early, which could have hurt us had we been playing a better team. They say winning is a habit, so is how we perform as well.
I spoke to the old man at halftime and said I felt it was important that we kept up our momentum in the second half and not allow them back into the game.
Whilst we didn't show the same sort of tempo (which I really didn't think we would) I felt that we did exactly what was required by taking the sting out of the game and managing it for the entire half, they never looked like scoring.

There's been a lot of complaint this season about our ability to manage and see out a game, well we did exactly that for 45 minutes, quite comfortably against a plucky Huddersfield side that never let their heads go down throughout.

One observation I will make though, I felt that our midfield was a bit too open, particularly in the first half, which exposed our back 4 a little too often. I don't think we'll play in the same manner against better quality, but it could potentially be an issue if we're not careful.

A minor gripe though after a game where, going forward, we were scintillating at times with some fabulous one touch play and ruthlessly clinical finishing.

Lovely set up for the rest of the weekend.

This.

Let's not forget that we played an away game in the CL just a few days ago too. We put the game to bed within 25 minutes, could easily have had a couple more in the first half, then cruised through the second half whilst still adding a 4th.

It's about controlling the game. Go flat out for 90 minutes in every game and we'll burn out like we did a couple of seasons ago.

MotM = Davies

The opening 30 minutes was the best we've played this season. So slick, fluid and lively. As a spectator, it was disappointing that we were less prolific in the second half, but this is expected (and even desirable) at 3-0 up after an away CL match in the week. Poch's tactics have been questioned a few times this season, but the team selection and game-plan was definitely spot-on today.

Lloris - 7 - Smart save from range.
Vertonghen - 8 - Solid defensively and picked out Eriksen beautifully for Davies' goal.
Sanchez - 7 - Another decent performance and his pace is a great addition to our CBs. Slightly fortunate not to concede a penalty. Hoping he'll sharpen up on his positioning (which is good, but not in the same league as Toby and Jan's) over the course of the season.
Alderweireld - 7 - I've docked a point for him clumsily giving away a free-kick on the edge of the area early on.
Davies - 9 - Very good overall performance, with a goal and an assist. Was begging for Kane to lay it off so he could pass it in for a second goal.
Trippier - 7 - Showed that he can be relied upon, now that he's back to full fitness (or was...hopefully he'll be fine in a few days).
Winks - 8 - We aren't able to play such slick one-touch football from front to back without him in the team. Does the simple things well and instils high-tempo passing throughout the team. Some of our play in the first half today was reminiscent of Modric, VDV, & Bale era Spurs. Only awarded one free-kick, despite being clearly fouled at least five times.
Dier - 7 - Ideal foil for Winks. Not convinced he's doing quite enough in possession to keep Wanyama on the sidelines, once he returns from injury, but doing well in the CDM role.
Eriksen - 8 - Several times inside the area where he could have been more clinical or laid a teammate off for a shot. Otherwise very very good.
Alli - 7 - Good performance, coming up with several clever flicks in the final third and plenty of runs to create space for others. If one or two more things had come off (e.g. scored instead of hitting the post) and he hadn't dived, I would have given him 8.
Kane - 8 - Yet another two goals. Missed out on a higher rating for not laying it off to Davies (or scoring) after the keeper's blunder and for being fairly quiet in the second half.

Sissoko - 7 - Couple of good runs and got a goal (even if the finish was poor). Despite his strong start to the season, he doesn't fit in with quick, flowing passing play that brought us so much success today.

Eriksen was ill during the week, so it made perfect sense to take him off when the win was beyond doubt (I may have taken him off earlier).

It's the problem with the social media world in general, not just this forum. Every twitter feed, every comments section on Facebook, every Youtube video. It's genuinely horrible.

This is the reality we live in unfortunately, social networking has given people a platform to argue absolute nonsense behind the comfort of their computer and get away with it.

Kane was and is world class.

Special mention for Dier who was excellent.

Davies continues to shove words down my throat.

Kane fantastic again.

Dier was good, no doubt.

For me though Davies was outstanding. So involved in so much of our build up play and linked really well, especially with Eriksen. Lovely deft finish for the goal and his movement, generally, was class I thought.

My word Pochettino can really improve players.

Danny Rose has a massive job on his hands dislodging this guy if he keeps up this kind of form consistently.

Overall though we played some fantastic stuff, even if they played into our hands.

Second half was a cruise. I know we all wanted more goals, but after playing away in Europe midweek we were never going to run ourselves into the ground to humiliate Huddersfield.

Impressive first half, professional second.
