Bale my Spurs MOTM

Came on in the 81st min. Brilliant 17min cameo!!! Seriously how can a player just turn it off and on when he feels like it?

Thought we were good value for our lead at HT without really creating too much. Man U upped it 2nd half and we weren’t good enough

Cavani must have thought it was Christmas again playing off Diers shoulder all afternoon.

Would love to know the politics re Toby. The saga started under Poch and seems to have never gone away...

Toby wouldn't of done any better imo the quality of the players within the squad has dropped considerably.

The question we all need to consider can we become a better team with selling either Son or Kane our most valuable players and reinvesting on our first 11.

The midfield trio was good, Son was decent. Aurier did OK as well.

The rest were poor.

Hojbjerg MOTM.

We need the right player in beside Hojbjerg. He is our 1 man midfield.

Ndombele and Lo Celso might put in a good challenge now and then (and they both did at times) but positionally all over the place.

Moura worked hard, as he always does, just not slot happened from it. Thought he should have taken the shot, but nice pass to son.

Lloris wasn't holding much, first half I was more worried about him than the back line. Couple of good saves.

Lloris 5
Aurier 5
Dier 5
Rodon 6
Reguilon 5
Hojbjerg 7
Ndombele 5
LoCelso 5
Moura 6
Son 6
Kane 6

Many got it right before and during the game, Dier and Sissoko both cost us.
Its Mourinho that's cost us mate. No 2 ways about it.

When we're 1-1 at home, and need the 3 points to stay within range of the CL spot, he puts on a sub that cannot score goals and cannot create, but may (I say may) provide some defensive wall. That just showed us what Mourimho's intentions were, to play for a draw. Unacceptable.

And he takes out both creative players in the squad rather than sacrifising either one of the fullbacks or Hojbjerg. Unacceptable.

And the customary and absolutely pointless bringing on Bale in the last 5 minutes when we've fallen behind. For what? To get a goal? Why only in the 85th minute? Why not earlier? Because Sissoko could score the goals? Unacceptable

Dont blame Sissoko or Dier. Its Jose who picks the team and tactics

Us fans are men and women of the match, to have to watch us, none of the players or staff deserve a vote.

Rodon, Aurier, Moura, Ndombele, PEH, were all ok. Just ok.
No one was good.
The rest were somewhere between poor and embarrassing.

All were somewhat focused in the first half. Played cohesively, if not a little subdued.

Man U went up thru the gears in the second half, and our players went from somewhat focused, to ragged and confused. And in the last 30 mins, they completely faded from the game. Looked defeated. Looked indifferent.

Jose sadly isn’t getting through. The players have checked out.

I would love to feel like this is all 100% on Jose. And that he has destroyed the confidence of every player, to the extent that they are incapable of even playing with pride and grit. But, I just can’t. Not 100%.

These chaps get paid ungodly sums of money. And I am not willing to give them a free pass, and a big hug, and tell them that I feel sorry for them, and how poorly they have been treated by the monster that is Jose. Soon they will be emancipated and that they will be great again. They have to also take a modicum of responsibility. It’s cowardly to deflect and blame their ineptitude completely on coaching.

Regardless of the manager, they have a job. They ‘earn’ money we can only dream of. Id like to think that they’re capable of rising above whatever limitations the coach has. That they can at least play with some intensity and courage. But, I guess things must be so toxic and ugly that they can’t.

This shit show game today, I put 65% of it on Jose, and the rest on the players. I just can’t leave them completely faultless in all of this. Not when I saw so many of them do the same thing during Poch last three months.

Moura motm for his defensive work as much as anything else.

Manu were really over aggressive for the game - we'd humiliated them at home so they were well up for this, for the whole 96mins. There always was going to be a price to pay for that incredible victory. Especially if the ref was going to be lenient with all their elbows and hands in faces. We needed a Wanyama on the field to 'calm' the situation.

So I think the players played as well as they could. That level would have beaten most sides. We keep this up until the end of the season, and a europa place is not out of question.

PS I always quite liked Solskjaer, but his Trump-like comments after the game were disgraceful in the context of their moron fans' enviable sea of racist social media posts.
His side are overly dirty which he condones. He's a nasty piece of work all round, really.

I have it to Sissoko. Sometimes it's really difficult for a sub to come on and get to the same level as the other players, he fcuking nailed it.

That being said, I thought we were good first half. NDombele and GLC were picking quick passes and the full backs got engaged and pushed up. Following a Mourinho half time team talk we stopped playing AGAIN!!!!! SISSOKO on at 1-1 is to protect a point. Protect a point...we can't defend so how can we protect! Who ever set us up for the first half needs to take over until the end of the season.

This one is on Jose!
Disagree that Sissoko was on to protect a point. Not necessarily the player I’d put on but we were being overrun in midfield so that area needed strengthens. Like I say I wouldn’t necessarily pick Sissoko .

It's Tottenham...famous Ferguson saying rings true unfortunately.

I totally blame Daniel Levy for this calamity, the lack of investment on the squad is to little and too late. You can't budget on a billion pound stadium forecast CL revenues and have squad of players so used to failing and mentally weak.

The gamble hasn't paid off in going with Mourinho and the players to not backing Poch and the painful rebuild.

Had a birthday party for my daughter today so didn’t get to see the game till long after it finished.
To be honest I’m surprised at the negative reactions to this game. Everybody has been moaning about negative defensive football yet today we were at them from the start off. Guess you can’t please some people.
We were the better side in the first half and probably deserved to be ahead. In the second half it was not a case of sitting back to defend our lead more a case of ManU upping their game and dominating the midfield as (especially) Lo Celso and NDombele( who does not seem to have 90 minutes in him)started to tire. I don’t think bringing Sissoko on is the answer but the midfield needed reinforcements and I’m not sure who else you can put in there - would have been nice if Skipp was in the bench.
I thought overall we went toe to toe with them and fir much of the game it was evenly balanced but they were that much more clinical in the final third that us.
Two other points.
Their first goal Deir and Regullion( who actually stopped)are waving for offside. Why? Every goal is checked for offside by VAR so why waste your time appealing while the ball is in play.
Lee Dixon is of the opinion that Kane drops back because he is to a degree past his peak, that a top striker stays up top because he wants to score more goals. Not sure I agree with him but it’s true that with him dropping back we lack that focal point in the box like ManU had with Cavani at CF.
I made Hojbjerg my MOM. He’s the only player in the midfield that shows any consistency. That’s were all our problems stem from. We all know that defensively we’re not good enough but a lot of that is because we have no control in midfield. We don’t have enough consistently good enough defensive midfielders who can protect the back four and we don’t have enough creative product coming from midfield either. All of the front 6,with the possible exception of Kane, don’t produce enough going forward- not enough chances created, not enough decent crosses, not enough assists and not enough goals.
