Emerson shades it in a game where there were a number of outstanding performances, he kept Grealish quiet on a night City used him extensively.

Lloris surprisingly quiet night, did well coming off his line late in game.

Back five were immense, Perisic gave Mahrez nothing and with Emerson closing out a Grealish City were a bit toothless. Big shout out to Davies who I thought really set the tone in the first half he was quick and agressive. Dier and Romero both good although did find myself shouting at a few of the Dier aimless long balls.

PEH and Bentancur won the midfield easily, these two were fantastic never giving City time and recycling possession well.

Kulu really good first half and relieved pressure well, though not at his best in final third. Kane brilliant finish and linked play well. Son grew into the game and made number of good runs and didnt cough up possession which he’s been prone to recently.

Stelleni, top job and sensible subs to sure things up.

Thought to a man we were great today, Emerson for me though.
Special mention to the ref who gets my super special ineptitude award for one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen in years, just seen who his brother is though so it shouldn’t have surprised me….

So clever though, it’s proper shit house things like that win games

Absolutely. And it's a rule to take advantage of, other players have done before Pierre did today.

Infuriating when it happens to you, but brilliant if it happens for you

Fans say Perisic was poor, but I don't remember him doing anything wrong against Mahrez. Didn't anybody watch the away match two weeks ago?
First half he was shaky, poor passing and first touch was not great. Got better in the second half.

Went to the game today - may i say that the sausage rolls are getting better

Anyways as for MOTM - Emerson or PEH really, i think PEH just edges it - he was a leader out there today.

We did play better as a team and we played oddly enough with more freedom - ill ask the question here, but will ask the question in the Conte thread - are the players fearful of making a mistake when Conte is on the sidelines?
I noticed that. There seemed to be a plan with the ball

When we have all three of Kulu, Romero and Bentancur on the pitch, we are a much, much better team. Long may it continue.

So true. Should never be underestimated how critical these three are.
Emerson and PEH shared MoM.
Kane, a legend.
Romero was unfortunate, as he ultimately payed the price for what started with a really dumb pass from Davies. And the ref was already holding the red card out as Romero slid!! And yeah, he did him so no favors with the first yellow. But I felt he was trying to rattle Halland. Arguably, it worked.
Also, is it just me or do our boys not like Rico Lewis? As I felt a few of them, EG: Bentancur seemed to take great pleasure in fucking him up. ?

PEH and Emersons best perfromances of the season, either could be MOTM, but as already stated a great team performance, got to build on this.

That was definitely the most enjoyable game I've watched in the longest time. We didn't sit back and wait to counter attack. We pressed and didn't allow City to grab a hold of that game.

Royal and PEH were outstanding but that was a team effort.
The press was what I love the most. The team working together is the very least we look for and it showed how important it is. Wish Sonny would improve his press and look to pass to Deki a bit more rather than just Kane. But what a really good performance.

Nobody below a 7/10. Excellent team performance.

Makes such a big difference to our speed of play and ability to play our counter attacking game when we've got all of our best technical players fit and in form. Take any of Kane, Son, Kulu, Bentancur or Perisic out of the side today and its a very different game.

Emerson Royal MOTM, but all the usual scapegoats were absolutely faultless. Great performance, hopefully a turning point for the season.
