Wondering if not having Conte on the sidelines actually eased a little bit of the pressure / anxiety for some players? That is NOT a dig at Conte, more a reflection on the mentality of some of our players.

The press was what I love the most. The team working together is the very least we look for and it showed how important it is. Wish Sonny would improve his press and look to pass to Deki a bit more rather than just Kane. But what a really good performance.

I agree Sonny seems so conditioned in his head to instinctively look for the pass to Harry, that often he misses clear opportunities to play in other teammates. I think that it is more than coincidence that he seems to up his game when he is the main striker when Harry has been out of the team.

Yeah Emerson was a monster yesterday. Didn't give Grealish anything, it was a great battle. Deserves all the plaudits and hopefully the boo boys will now STFU and support their players. MotM. PEH was also a standout performer. Kane....what else can be said about the man? A joy to watch.

Romero...oh Romero. I know he's everyones golden boy but that was a completely unneccessary red which shouldnt be overloooked. No need whatsoever to make that first challenge. He makes at least 1 very rash challenge every single game. Defended great for 90% of the game but needs to learn to stay on the edge rather than stepping over it. Having said that Haaland barely had a touch all game so our defensive unit did a great job on him.

Crowd were amazing. Stadium was rocking.

Tbh I think Romero sort of *did* need to make that challenge. He was very close to getting the ball and it was one of those old fashioned challenges that lets the opposition know he is there plus set the tempo a bit. The second one was just one of those things and he couldn't have Grealish running in. I actually didn't get too critical of him yesterday because it was a game for a bit of blood and thunder. It might just be me though lol

I am hungover…but fcuk me was that good..was bricking it before the game but that performance was just brilliant. Hugo didn’t have a save to make. Dier and Davies were immense. Romero is always a booking coming but was good. Royal was best player on pitch,I made sure I told people…hopefully the abusers will stop! Hjojberg was awesome. Kane just a perfect day. The others were good too. The fans and atmosphere was just excellent! Couldn’t have enjoyed it more…..

And the ref was fcuking terrible

Had he been sent off in the 17th minute instead of the 87th and we got battered would you feel the same or is it just that it didnt affect the result that he gets a pass? (Not really a question just for you, but for anyone defending his overall general recklessness). I really like the guy but he needs to curb it because in between the 2 yellows he was absolutely brilliant. It'll be interesting to see the reactions of everyone who "doesn't mind a few reds here and there" if it costs us in a final.

AG said it right. He was probably that kid in school who just loved kicking the flashy forwards up in the air.

Has Haaland found his way back to Manchester from the depths of Diers pocket yet?
