Ndombele motm.
I never knew he could last the full 90mins.
Perhaps the extended break in the game allowed him to recharge.
Maybe he sees a chance to double his wages in the summer...

The TV coverage was repulsive. Always focusing in on the ugly cat faced woman and that henchman.
For the sake of balanced viewing, they cut to ant & dec every now and then.

They behaved exactly the same when that gangster took over chelsea, always looking for his reaction as if he was royalty, and we had to wait for his approval.

Then there was the saudi mags, dressed up like the head choppers themselves.

It was all set up for a home win so I'm so so glad we spoiled their party.

I thought our midfield - Skipp, Højbjerg and Ndombele were all magnificent today. Totally dominated the game apart from the first 10 mins.

Only two players who I was disappointed with were Emerson and Dier.

Emerson’s play acting was atrocious and could have cost us a goal. No way should Newcastle have kicked the ball out for him. He was pretty clueless going forwards too. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as he played so soon after playing for Brazil but so far I think Tanganga is probably better at both ends.

Dier had a solid game until that last couple of mins. Conceded a needless foul coming through the back of their player and then scored a comedic own goal from the resulting free kick. He needs to cut these mistakes from his game.

Lloris could do nothing about either goal and was commanding on every cross. 7

Royal took a while to get into the game. Lazy flick for their opener and occasionally committed unnecessarily when he should have held his position, but still wasn’t bad. 6

Romero at fault for Wilson’s goal but I believe it’s already very apparent how much more composed his passing is. He often looks to play into the feet of the midfielders with great accuracy and just the right power, but he can play long passes out wide and over the top really well, too. Not gonna be too harsh on him not getting in front of his man, having just flown thousands of miles. 8

Dier was solid in the air, and I was pretty impressed with his aerial dominance throughout, but he just has to do something to make you question his performance. A needless free-kick leading to one of the greatest shit own goals you’re likely to see knocks off one point from his rating. 6

Reguilón’s best performance for us; both going forward and defensively. Outstanding in every sense. 8

Hojbjerg dug in and kept the ball brilliantly. His forward pass into Kane was inch perfect. 7

Skipp was the classic midfield metronome. Nothing fancy, but that’s precisely what you want when you’ve got a player with Ndombele‘s ability alongside [slightly further forward than] you. 7

Ndombele‘s talent is frightening. If he can keep up 75% of that performance each week, he’ll be fine. MOM. 9

Lucas gives everything. His ability to drop a shoulder and break the lines is outstanding. If only his final ball matched his energy and effort. That said, it was a nice pass into Kane leading to Son’s goal. 7

Son worked hard defensively in the last twenty, which was great to see. Perfect positioning for his goal. 7

Kane, excellent. A few times our players could (should) have picked him out in the final third, but a nice pass by Hojbjerg for the goal, and a delightful finish. Still no idea how his free-kicks are so bad (or how he’s allowed to take them). Anyone who says Harry Kane “isn’t the player he was” (Chris Sutton) is off their head. 8

We looked so much better without Dele in the team, but I would have liked to see NES make at least a couple of token subs in the final ten minutes.

Lloris - 7- Nothing much to do and could do nothing for either goal.
Emerson - 6 OK. Probably knackered.
Romero - 7.5 A calming influence. Got caught out a bit fot their first,
Dier - 6.5 Looks much better next to Romero. Unlucky with OG but should have done better.
Reggie -7 Tireless and enthusiastic
Hojbjerg - 6.5 Calm and steady.
Skipp - 7 Some very good stuff. Got caught napping for their first and left Reggie 2 on 1.
Tanguy - 8 Dictated the game and was involved right through. MOM. Lovely finish.
Lucas - 6.5 Tireless and direct. Gave them plenty to think about
Son - 6 Game passed him by a bit but a good effort under the circumstances. Nice to bag a goal.
Kane - 7.5 Good to have him back on the score sheet. Seemed a lot more focussed.

Nuno - 7 Decent lineup. Newcastle were utter shiteand we should have smashed them. Bit weird making zero subs when a few had travelled half way round the World.

Sky Sports - minus 500. Jumped onto the sportswashing bandwaggon and couldn't stop blowing smoke up the Saudi's arses, presumably because their shared prime interest is money. I've never been anti NUFC but I hope they go down now.

Lloris dealt with what he had to deal with well, but at fault on either goal.

Emerson started poorly but grew into the match and was fine by the end, particularly considering the many mitigating factors. Links nicely with Lucas.

Romero was perhaps a touch static on the first goal but it’s hard to blame him when the crosser had that much time to pick a good ball while Wilson, who is a good striker, had that much of a run onto it. Overall very good with a good display of his pace on recovery and his passing range.

Dier mopped up most everything he needed to all game and was very unlucky on the own goal in my opinion. I wasn’t even convinced it was a foul but he was unsigned as the ball flew at him and didn’t have time to readjust. Looked much worse in replays from a third party view, in real time through his eyes that all happens incredibly quickly. Enjoyed seeing him drive up the pitch with the ball and he read most everything that came at him really well.

Reguilón was left 2 v 1 for the Newcastle opener but honestly I felt he should’ve done more to make life difficult for the crosser, he just seemed to admire the opposition playing around him. Brilliant after that though, great awareness for his assist and preferred so much threat on that flank. Want to see him shoot on occasion when he bursts into the box.

Højbjerg started slow and ponderous, playing everything safe but after we equalised he got his head up much better, played a lovely ball for our second and really pressed up well, secure in having Skipp mopping up. Looking a very good player right now.

Skipp was manful. He reads the game so well and the precision with which he side tackles at pace is great to see. Getting better each game and he’s progressing the ball forward more and more too.

Lucas won’t get as much praise as the rest of the attack by I thought he was amazing. He’s become our most ores resistant player and what he lacks in tangible output he’s more than making up for by getting the ball high up the pitch adds into dangerous areas. His link up with Ndombele and Kane is what killed the match, with beautifully quick feet when he received the ball and a great precision pass to get Kane behind.

Ndombele had his best match for us, with a beautifully taken goal and generally dictating our attack all match. His skill and strength in the build up to our third was a joy too, and the fact that he was fighting for the ball and charging down their defenders later on despite having taken a kicking was a huge improvement.

Son wasn’t just very best but he still scored thanks to his pace and movement while he brought the ball out of our defence a few times. Like the South Americans his was a disrupted build up to the game so I’ll cut him some slack, especially as he scored the winner.

Kane looked good, he was actually doing the difficult stuff like making runs constantly, getting up close and personal with centre backs and being a proper out ball high up the pitch. The result, one goal (beautifully taken) and one assist. More of the same v West Ham please.

All in all this was pleasing. Yes. Newcastle are bad but so are Crystal Palace, Watford and Arsenal. Our approach was spot on despite preparations being nuked by a variety of things and our opposition riding the crest of a billionaire wave, the balance was good again and we played some really nice stuff. More green shoots and feeling much better than I did post Arsenal.

Not to put a damper on your predictions but it was Newcastle. A team rooted in the bottom 3 at this moment in time.
I agree it was only Newcastle but playing on the front foot makes us look better. We have played some shit teams in the conference League and we looked shit.
