as if he hasn't upset the Tottenham faithful enough, why say this Luka ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19976356?

Luka Modric has urged his old Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Gareth Bale to join him at Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Bale has been instrumental in Spurs's impressive recent form and the Wales winger is regularly linked with a move away from White Hart Lane.

Former Real striker Davor Suker feels a move to the Bernabeu "would be his best move of his career" and current star Modric feels Bale is "good enough".

Modric said: "I agree he should play for Real Madrid and I hope he'll come."

Bale even caught the eye for struggling Wales against Modric's Croatia when the hosts won Tuesday's World Cup qualifier 2-0 in Osijek to all but end Welsh hopes of qualifying for Brazil 2014 with just four games gone.

The 23-year-old has transformed into one of the Premier League's stars since his move from Southampton in 2007 and was catapulted to international prominence with his first hat-trick in Spurs's Champions League defeat at Inter Milan in 2010.

Real, who are coached by Jose Mourinho, are one of the clubs who have been linked with Bale and Spurs entered a partnership with the nine-time European champions in which will the two clubs will work together in respect of players, coaching and commercial relationships.

But Spurs have denied the agreement allows Real Madrid to have first refusal on players such as Bale.
Bale signed a new Tottenham contract until 2015 but that does not end speculation suggesting the Cardiff-born player could leave London for a record transfer fee for a British player.

And Croatian midfielder Modric, who joined Madrid from Spurs for £30m in the summer, hopes the 2011 PFA Player of the Year joins him in the Spanish capital.

"It would be amazing and I think he can [play for Real Madrid]," Modric told BBC Radio Wales.
"He's a good enough player."

Bale's former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp feels Bale is in the same class as Real forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi.

Bale has scored six in his last eight Wales games but after inspiring Wales to a Group A victory over Scotland with a two-goal display on Friday, he could not ensure a Wales win in Croatia as he acknowledges he was a "marked man" in Osijek.

"It is normal now I think," said Bale.

"I'm never going to stop doing what I do and hopefully I can continue to play well."
Bale is the only player to score for Chris Coleman's side in 2012 but insists Wales are not a "one man team".

"We defend as a team and attack as a team," said Bale.
"Sometimes I'm up there and if players are there to be taken on then I do, but all the boys deserve credit."

it will rumble on for a few seasons anyway given the amount of money it would take to get him.

I get as angry about this sort of thing as the next man, but let's face it, the world and it's mother have been trying to sell Gareth off to Real or Barca ever since he tore an extra arsehole for Maicon on that glorious night at The Lane a few years ago.

Basically, what these people are failing to understand is that (thank God) Gareth is very much his own man. So much so that he only just signed a new contract extension until 2016 despite all the whispers and rumours, which makes a heck of a negative statement to all the world's would-be suitors.

I don't suspect for one moment that Bale will spend his entire career with us, and he may well prove me wrong by bowing to immense pressure and moving on this summer, but I have a very strong feeling that having signed his extended contract, he's going to be playing for Tottenham for at least another season, maybe two if we're lucky.

Right now, I'm loving having him play for us. Maybe that's the key. Just enjoy him while we can and don't begrudge him a move to one of Europe's biggest clubs if and when that does happen.

I guess it wouldn't hurt if we made a Champions League place every season either...

A player as good as Bale should be competing to win the Champions League and not just qualify for it. For that reason he willl eventually leave us. It will hurt when he does so lets all enjoy him while we can.

So the intense lack of respect that this little shit has for our club rears its ratfaced head yet again. I thought we were done with this. Should talk about his own team and keep his mouth shut regarding matters involving our own club and its players.

Old Luka should probably have said he wouldnt comment out of respect for his former club but ohwell, he is a bit of a rat as we all learnt last summer

Anyway it's true, he probably should be playing for a team that wins things really, his contract length his probably just about right. Real wont pay what we would ask right now, and that imo gives AVB 2 years to prove that we can compete before we would have to look to sell

As always, it's just journalists trolling for headlines. They ask him a question and spin his answer either way to make it sound sensational.

Is modric good enough for madrid? Yes/no?

becomes

"Modric slams former team mate bale, saying he isn't fit too lace their boots and doesn't want him at the club".

or

"Modric wants to Bale to leave Spurs to Madrid".

I guess he hasn't got much to report on how his season is going so far. Even with Madrid playing pretty awful by their own standards he still can't get in the team. Meanwhile we dont really look like we miss him.

"We sticked you up like a kipper Madrid, you maaaaags!"

Absolutely this. When will people actually learn and understand this? All this wailing and gnashing of teeth is really quite ridiculous and boring.

Bale has always said he wanted to play abroad for some of the biggest clubs in the world. Every time he's said he'll stay another season he has.

When he says he wants to go I won't hold any grudges, he has so much potential its unreal. I think he's 3-4 years off his peak too.

I just hope we get close to 50m when he leaves, he's worth more than modric through age and potential.

Let's enjoy his time here as much as possible, like VDV all good things come to an end!

It isn't a question of whether what Modric says is true or not, it's a matter of respect. Yes, Bale is good enough to play for Madrid or Barca and is deserving of playing at the highest level at some stage, but that's a matter for him. As a Spurs alumni Luka should have more respect than to talk about what our own players should be doing. In saying that Bale "should play for Madrid" Modric is effectively saying that we are not good enough for Gareth, just as he clumsily asserted of himself previously.

It's one thing trying to engineer himself a move but he needs to leave our club and its current players alone. Could have answered the question in a far more considered way. This is just the latest in a long conveyor belt of disrespect from him towards our club and its fans though. The twat has no manners.

Cue a £15m bid from Liverpool.......

We all know he's good enough, but that's where it ends. He's contracted to Spurs. But.....if a bid of say £80 Million came in, what would DL do ??
