Title is missing a few words I reckon:

"Luka Modric instructed by Real Madrid to tap up Gareth Bale: Gives interview professing love for Welsh Wingers"

Or more likely "Luka Modric asked leading question by guttersnipe shitloid journo, responds exactly how one would expect"

Luka Modric never loved Tottenham. Sure, it was fun for him and the sex was good, but he was always tempted and his roving eye liked the Russian ruble and Spanish sultry senoritas.

Poor, loyal, loving Tottenham just couldn't stop him looking to get his end away with someone else.

I think Bale will leave sooner than later really. I think he does have a strong record of playing well between October and Xmas and then not so well in the new year but I think the quality of the average player in the modern game (especially defenders) is so bad that someone like Bale looks world class when 10 years ago he would be just above average.

Modric is comedy though, "Come and join me on the bench Gareth"

Is it better to be a bit part player at Madrid or go on to be a club legend at Spurs? I think we all know what we would do but I suppose you have to think that Modric believed he had enough ability to be a first teamer for Madrid, fair enough. Just wish he would shut the fuck up and concentrate on that though.

Yep, but I can hardly blame him.

As far as I can remember, Modric had the choice between us and Chelsea. It was Bilic that recommended he joined us, as he thought it would mean Modric having more first-team starts, and thus avoiding the possibility of disappearing into the vast abyss of Chelsea's many unused talents. Bilic was right, and Modric took his advice as he saw us as a stepping stone. Berbatov leaving shortly after he arrived would only have reinforced his belief that joining us was a temporary measure.

At the end of the day not many players stay at the same club for that long, unless they are at the very top of the salary/honours list. We did well to get Modric, and we kept him longer than I'm sure many of us expected. Unfortunately it's the same situation with Bale, and I have no illusions about him staying with us for much longer.

It wouldn't necessarily be a massive problem, but when a player like Moutinho is willing to join, and despite having the cash we still don't sign them, it starts to look pretty bad.

True every team sells players but we need to replace them with quality, or we'll end up being known as a feeder club like Arsenal, if we haven't already

at least AVB told him to shut up too, but his comment about Modric loving spurs and being interested n them was odd
