Superb referee tonight, Viktor Kassai from Hungary, there were 6 bookings, 1 for a tackle (Chivu on Lennon) and 5 for unsporting behaviour, bring him to the Premier League and it would soon sort out all the crap that players get away with. He let the game flow, got pretty much every decision spot on and controlled the players well.

We give them a lot of flak, but it's nice to give them a bit of praise when they get it right.

Good call BigTurnip. Very good performance by the ref.
Tho credit to the players also who played the game in a good spirit - not 1 nasty tackle and lots of ree flowing football.

I haven't seen a good one in the Prem for so many games it's ridiculous. He was totally unnoticed....which = perfect.

Totally agree, he wasn't an attention seeking whore like some of those we put up with each weekend. Good man.

Yep, and it's not often you can say that when 6 yellow cards were handed out. I just looked him up on Wikipedia and he's about the only referee I've come across that doesn't have a 'Controversies' section.

Why don't the PGMOB try and bring referees like this to the Premier League? we must pay better than the Hungarian League.

This is a very important point though - credit can also go to the players for their attitude and professional behaviour. I do like a game to flow and, whilst i expect i wouldn't feel quite as satisfied had we lost, he did appear to call a very good game.

6 yellow cards?!

It's easy to say after a victory, but very very good performance!

Just as the Premier League was improved by importing all the foreign players to the English game, perhaps the same would be true if the best foreign refs were imported into the Premier too.
That way useless bastards like Webb, Clsuerfuck etc would be forced out by better competition.

Yeah good call. The ref was superb tonight. No grandstanding. No bullshit. Just called what needed to and let the game flow.

Were you watching Clattentwat, Webb and co you bunch of inbred fucktards?

I didn't notice him, which in my mind means he had a brilliant game. The difference from the Man U game was we had a strong ref and Inter didn't cheat.

I loved the ref and he let the game flow. He only blew for 6 fouls in the first half.

He also told an Inter player off for going down easy and booked Jenas trying to pull a fast one.

Every decision seemed spot on, only Lucio seemed to complain about decisions today, but most Inter players shook the refs hand.

I think in the first half there were only 6 fouls or something Eek

The ref was amazing last night, like any European ref some booking were a little 'soft' but we all know that will be the case but he he got every decision correct and it was a testament to just how good he was that you barely realised he was there

Excellent display by the ref. I also thought Inter were superb at respecting decisions. When Samuel hacked down Lennon (or was it Modric?) he nodded his head to say it was a foul and then gave the ref a pat on the back when he was booked. I'd love to see that in the Premier League instead of refs constantly being surrounded.

Just a thought. Of the yellow cards collected in the Group stages, are they rescinded for the knockout element? We have got a number of players on a single yellow, including Modric and Jenas.
