I blame Nuno for this mess. If he hadn't been so arrogant in his team selection for this competition, we would have been out of sight by now.
Blah blah blah. Irrelevant. Let’s focus on whether we are given a pas to the next round. If so, great, let’s go on and try to win it. If we’re out, we can focus on trying to get top 4 and the real European competition next time around. Oh, and don’t go around ranking other people’s comments as off topic and then go on to make an off topic rant. Kinda contradictory. Thanks.

This is a good result, (if we are out the comp). We are going to have fitness issues and fixture conguestion
I agree. Crap competing with no prestige to the winners, would just congest fixture list

Strange one but good outcome for us. Bin off this tie and the competition. We've got two PL games to rearrange as it is and an ill set of players and staff. Get the covid situation back under control and gun for top 4 and the FA cup.

I bet that if this was say, PSG or Bayern, that had been ravaged by Covid and it was the Champions League we would not be having this debate!

Be interesting to see what they do if that happens. They've set a precident now so it should work the same in a big semi final as has in this case.

The guardian article says during the video conference between UEFA, us, and Rennes, we refused to confirm how many players were C19 positive or whether we had 13 players and a keeper. Unless our keepers are all positive, it's hard to believe we'd not meet that threshold with just 8 positives. And if the keepers have it, you'd think we'd confirm that. So I suspect Spurs are happy to be hit with a draw or loss here by default and eliminated.

I'd say this decision was more to do with Tottenhams opinion than not. Rennes shouldn't really give a shit as it would be a good fixture for their B team to learn from. I'd say spurs said fuck it. Not worth the hassle, we'll keep that private so as not to run down the competition and UEFA can call it a draw.

Its the best decision. Our 2nd team showed us they all need replacing as far as I'm concerned.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I could care less about winning the European Conference League. It’s a third tier European trophy. I’d much rather Conte had the time with the squad to fully focus on the premier league and domestic competitions. I know we’re in dire need of a trophy, but the ECL does not satisfy that need. Better we set ourselves up for longer term success. This also lets Daniel and Antonio hold up their hands and say, it’s not entirely our fault we are out, saves a bit of face and allows to focus on more important things.

If we are knocked out, it’s a blessing in disguise (though not too well disguised).

TBF, Nuno was only doing what most of us keep saying we should do, which is to heavily rotate the team for the lesser competitions. Guess coaches should know better than us fans though.

Unless he's American. They say 'could care less' when they mean the opposite.
I'm aware they do and it makes no sense. I guess it's a thing that bothers me whenever I see it for some reason- in a similar way to incorrect use of their, they're and there... They have some 'reasoning' behind it when I've discussed it, but it's highly illogical.

threaten to dock three points to Rennes, that should get them to agree to a reschedule.
