Brilliant.
I was saying a week back, if there was one player I want to take from Celtic thats only Hatate.
Not comparing directly, but his style on ball, low center of gravity reminds me of Modric
Hope we get him.

I must have watched him, but I can't remember. Is he a 6?

Some talk that he has a release clause which Ange would obviously know about.
Seen a few Celtic games last season and he looked ok but it's a massive step up. Obviously if Ange wants him then get him in if it's doable

I would definitely take Hatate, he was a stand out for Celtic last season along with Jota and they’re probably the only two players I could see making the move to the EPL or a stronger league in the future.

Who was the last player we signed from Scotland? Was it Alan Hutton?

He was alright but the step up is huge. Players are basically going from league one to the PL.

Hatate is 25, but he started playing pro football only in 2019-20. He is late into football but has stepped up in all seasons
His game was top class vs Real Madrid game overall, really troubled them most game. I think he can step up well.

He looks quality and if that release clause is true, it’s an absolute brainer.

Personally I’m not entirely convinced by him from what i've seen and I think it’s very risky taking players from Celtic. There are others I’d prefer for the 8 position.

I wouldn’t put a blanket no-go on players from SPL. Which signing isn’t risky ? Let’s not forget we got Ndombele & LoCelso from top leagues as well.
Ange scouted him out of obscurity & got him to Celtic for 1.4m - if he believes same player can step up to PL , so be it. At least he knows the player inside out - that makes the risk less

I wasn't, I’m saying that more from a point of view of the games I’ve watched of him whilst also taking into consideration the league quality and other targets. If I hadn’t of watched him I’d agree, one shouldn’t make a judgement on any player they haven’t watched just on the bases the league isn’t good.

Yeah this isn’t like signing a complete unknown. You’d think the new coach would have a very good insight in if they are ready to step up. He’s clearly too good for the SPL judging by how well he’s done.

For the right price he could be a good signing.

Hmm … what midfielder can we remember being dominant against Real Madrid in the CL? Oh, yes: Harry Winks! 😉

Jokes aside: support the manager to get the players he wants. When it is a player he’s managed previously and knows well - get it done. Within reasonable economic limits obv.

Harry winks was superb then. I'd love that winks back. However he never looked the same after his ankle injury.

Yes please a wonderful little player. He would be brilliant in a 3 man midfield or even as a 10. Can't believe he only has 1 cap for Japan, they must have some seriously talented midfielders if that's the case.
