Gilberto joins Chris Gunter and Adel Taarabt for the reserve derby against Arsenal at Barnet FC tonight.

The Brazilian defender came on as substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers and now plays his third-successive reserve game.

Clive Allen's squad go into the match on a four-match unbeaten run, winning three and can go level on points with the Gunners with another victory.

Tommy Forecast, on the bench at Ewood Park, returns in goal and there are five Academy players in the 17.

The game kicks-off at Underhill at 7pm.

Squad: Forecast, L Butcher, Gunter, Dervite, Mtandari, Hughton, Archibald-Henville, Gilberto, Livermore, Hutton, Maghoma, Rose, Taarabt, Pekhart, Dawkins, Obika, Smith.

Not sure if there is another thread for this but did anyone see it? Be interested to hear how close these guys are to the first team.

I saw it - lots of the guys showed they could certainly be squad material - whether they could crack it consistently in the first team - we'll only find out by giving them a chance

I thought Pekhart Rose Hutton Archibald-Henville and Livermore all showed promise

Gunter and Gilberto we know about -

I couldn't make my mind up re Dervite - I'm sure he was better than that pre-injury but I might be letting my prior knowledge cloud my judgement - so I pass on that and wish him all the best - he was/is a tremendous prospect

there was some comedy commentating on 'Taraabt' (who was Obika) but Winterburn and the main commentator kept remarking how disappointing Taraabt was and how they'd seen him play much better for the first team - it was priceless -

-and then when David Hutton came on - a classic chant 'you should have stayed in Scotland' from some gooner - apparently this Hutton (who's about 5ft 4) comes from Enfield :smile:

Hope Dervite resumes his trajectory. I remember being really impressed when he played in the CC last year.

Out of the promising list you gave is Rose still most likely to get the nod for a first team squad appearance?

cheers Nick re Rose it's hard to say - if I had to pick one I'd go for Archibald Henville or Pekhart to put most first team minutes in next season - but that's partly cos they are physically mature enough -

but I wouldn't bet money on it - and rose is a real prospect just very small
