Odd decision by GB to leave their two fastest 100m runners out. We were never going to be in with a shout with Kilty and Harry AA.

It's two hours later and we still don't know why GB were disqualified in the 4 x 400m.

The officiating in the athletics has been pretty bad.

So. There was no bathroom in the gas station. They pissed behind it, and ripped off an ad there. They were then confronted by guards with badges, told to exit the cab and had guns pointed at them until they paid them money. No one could have possibly seen the back before they were confronted. The cops and the gas station story does not match up with the video and the recent statement from one of the swimmers at all. But James Feigen was still extorted out of 11 grand. Crazy how th eyve gone from robbery victims, to false accuser status back to victims even though they're still seen as false accusers because of the media.

The odd thing is that line about conclusive evidence. There was no conclusive evidence that the American women's 4x100m team were impeded (because they weren't), yet they overturned that decision.

Apparently they took the baton outside of an exchange zone. But they replayed each handover at least three times on BBC last night and none of the pundits or commentators saw anything wrong with any of them. The appeal has been upheld as well, which is frankly ridiculous.

I honestly think they disqualified them then spent a couple of hours trawling through the replays to try and find a reason to justify it, and made sure there were no camera angles that could prove it one way or the other. They just wanted Brazil in competition for a medal in the last day of games.

I'm going to be sad when these Olympics finish, it's been great watching us win so many golds in so many sports.

To put our performances into perspective:
in the 1980 games in Moscow, we won 5 golds- and the US didn't go.
in the 1984 games in L.A. we won 5 golds- and the USSR didn't go.
in the 1988 games in Seoul we won 5 golds.

Of those 15 golds, Seb Coe got 2, Daley Thompson got 2, Malcolm Cooper (shooting) got 2, and Redgrave and Holmes got 2: so more than half our 1980s tally came from just those 5 guys.

We've come a very long way.

Korean, former world nr. 1 and out with an injury much of this year so it's no big shock now she's fit again.

Hull is sixth ATM, two strokes behind bronze.

Joyce and Adams both guaranteed gold or silver. Mo Farah should get another. Tom Daley qualified first yesterday, if he can keep that level up he'll get something. The men's 4x400 looked like they were in with a shout before that dodgy DQ.

We only need 3 more to match London now and with Joyce and Adams guaranteed plus Farah still to run I'm confident we will do that, just need one more from somewhere else to beat London-real shame about Daley.

We're currently first and third in the modern pentathlon so fingers crossed we get a medal in that.

So gutted for that Taekwondo guy...must be fucking heartbreaking knowing he was that close and he's gotta wait four years for another bash.

What's gonna haunt him is that it was his own mistake. He had a two point lead so could incur a few penalties by simply not engaging and letting the guy chase him out the ring. It was a brilliant kick by other guy but Muhammed shouldn't even have let him get in range to do it. It must have literally been the last tenth of a second he got the kick in.
