Good article, he doesn't get enough credit as a goalscorer(a bit like Le Tissier) but his numbers stack up and he brings so much else to the team.

Great article...but is he saying Robbie has a drinking problem and plays (brilliantly) with a hangover?

I can see Robbie dueting with Ramos on the spanish guitar during long coach trips...

Really like Keane but he's never been the same after a serious injury in year ????. But i have to admit he's still our most important striker.

The article is a bit of a ramble really, if its blind praise for Keane then its fair enough, if its really what Jol believes then its a bit silly.

For a start Keane & Berba both scored 10 times away from home last season, and all goals should count as Berba scored in very difficult games like Besiktas and Leverkusen as well as Chelsea and 2 at Fulham in an FA cup cameo appearance. Berbatov's record away last season was pretty impressive by anybodys standards.

He then also says that he had 3 first choice strikers (Keane, Berba and Defoe) and he announced that Keane was his number 1? Erm surely he means his number 2 because if he thinks that Keane is better or more important to the side than Berbatov then BC's image of him as bungling french detective could well be spot on. Just a very stupid thing to write.

Finally does he really think or expect other people to think that prior to Lennon's arrival that Keane was the quickest player at the club over 10 yards and joint quickest with Ledley over 20 yards? I just knew that there was something wrong with our fitness tests.

As I say if its just an article to praise what is an excellent achievement by Keane then its alright,I just hope he doesn't believe all that he has written because that would be very worrying.

Yeah, yeah, good article and all that, but why when i click to go to Berbati's mental posts (curious as to where the quotes were comin from) does it tell me i don't have permission?

Where have you fasci... *cough* Mods hidden this enlightened speakers pearls of wisdom?

The article was a good read and it's always good to have the perspective and opinion of someone who really knows Keano - we can suspect and presume stuff but i'm delighted that when Robbie Keane signed for us, what was it, 8 years ago now, he finally found somewhere to plant roots. Absolute epitomy of passion, plays like it's his last game and expects nothing less from his team-mates.

Pro-ledge, now and forever will he be!

A couple of years ago I would not have complained if we had sold Keane now he is probably are most important player. He has improved dramatically. Keane plays his heart out every time he goes out there and runs about like a Kuyt, scores like a Drogba and has the vision of a Sheringham. Very underated player.

Oh and to the guy who raves on about Berbatov there is one main difference between RK and DB - Keane plays his heart out for Spurs every game, his heart is with Tottenham and he will stay there for the rest of his career.

Berbatov did not play against Reading because he had a cold

Allrighty. I've cleaned this up for the second and final time. If it goes off topic again, i'll sharpen the banstick. So can we please keep this about Robbie Keane. If you want to discuss the merits of any other player, i'm certain that there is already a thread in which you can do that.

So the stats that were printed within the article and the relevant comments relating to that have been deleted...? I would argue that those posts weren't off topic as the thread is to do with the article and not a Keane love-in.

This thread is not an appreciation thread about Keabe but a thread about an article about Keane. In that article Jol presents some theses, among them the thesis Keane contributes much more in away games than Berbatov. Do we have the right to discuss that thesis of Mr. Jol?
