That's as maybe TCO :) but he's still much much better in the air than Keane - I can't think of one top striker in the Prem that's worse than Keane in the air - even JD is better and he's another one nowhere near as good as Crouch in the air

Better in the air yes, but Keane is 10 times the player overall than Crouch is and will always score more as well as getting a good few assists.

I agree, however, that this story is the biggest pile of utter bollocks I have read this summer. I believe Keane has a real passion for Spurs and would be very very stupid to leave at this exciting time for the club. And to go to a team who could very well struggle to keep a hold of 4th spot and we could quite realistically be challenging???? madness:rofl:

Perhaps he misses watching a club implode from up close

Which means we should worry about Woody too :eek:mg:

i think keane slows spurs down, evrything breaks down once he gets the ball, he hold s things up when others are looking to break quickly, he misses lots of 1 on 1 chances against the keeper, he doenst score amasing goals anymore but occasionally does the odd thing right. he aint god please stop pretending he is,

deluded.....

Talksport are talking like its a done deal. If Keano leaves us I will be gutted. It would be a betrayal by both player and the club that will be second only to the Scumbell fiasco.

This

Completely agree with every word of this post. Anyone who says they would hate Keane for going to his boyhood club where his idol played after years of serving Spurs to the utmost of his ability, is a complete and total mug.

Yes you are.

Seconded. It all very well slagging off one of our best players, our vice captain and prolific scorer but who an earth can we get who is better? Replacing Keane with a worse player such as Crouch would be an unmitigated disaster!

The daily mail is now reporting that Keane has demanded a transfer. Of course there isn't a quote in site so it's obviously a journo picking up on the rumour and expanding tenfold. I hope.

i'm getting worried. Talksport were one of the first to say santos would be joining us and said ages ago about Ronaldo wanting to move to real with the player agreeing terms before the champions league final which also seems to be the case

I don't care if we improve the keeper and the midifeld - losing keane who has improved season after season would be a nightmare. I am certain Ramos sees him as an integral part of the team and although keane may not mind going to liverpool if the club say no i doubt he would go public and put his relationship with everyone associated with the club at risk. After king and gardner he is our longest serving current play in our squad. The board should know that they will really piss us off f they sold him. Only a swap for either torres or gerrard would ease the loss

They were? Before Archibald on 4th January?

FFS…

hence I said one of the first. If it was before Archibald I would have said the first. They were definitely the first media source to go public

all Keane needs to do is come out and say he is staying IF he wants to put an end to the speculation

And why do you think that was? Their legion of Deep Throat investigative journos with their fingers on the pulse of every European transfer dealing? Or Fred from Leytonstone phoning in to say he'd just read that we were interested on some website or other?

Dear God, how little it takes for most of SC to turn into limpwrist Caspar Milquetoasts.

Or the club. What we need is one of those statements saying: The club usually refrains from commenting on transfer speculation but in light of the rumours surrounding The Robbie Keane's transfer we have told Liverpool to fuck right off.

Keane asks for transfer.

Robbie Keane stunned Tottenham by telling them he wants to leave.

Sportsmail can reveal that Republic of Ireland striker Keane delivered his shock transfer demand after learning Liverpool had lodged a player-plus-cash bid for him on Friday.

The 28-year-old came out of a meeting at White Hart Lane having left club officials in little doubt about his eagerness to play for his boyhood idols.
Anfield manager Rafa Benitez sees Keane as the ideal strike partner for Euro 2008 match-winner Fernando Torres and is prepared to part with Peter Crouch and around £5million to make it happen.

As with his pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry, though, Benitez is going to have to dig deeper after Tottenham rejected his initial offer and placed a £20m valuation on Keane.

Keane's desire to get away from Spurs is a bigger shock. Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard and long-serving centre back Jamie Carragher are both friends of the Irishman, who could be one of three strikers to leave Tottenham should the deal go through.

Spurs manager Juande Ramos knows Dimitar Berbatov is unsettled and he is also exploring ways of offloading Darren Bent. Apart from having to increase the cash adjustment, Benitez may also struggle to talk Crouch into being part of the package as the England striker still wishes to join Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.

Villa confirmed that Barry can move to Anfield, provided Liverpool match their £18m price.
