A very well respected itk on YNWA has said that there is something to this. The itk is named Elisha Scott (after the GK) and has said

"It hasn't come from nowhere, it has been under consideration for a while. It just seems that things are moving quickly now, which is a good sign. Apparently Keane and Daniel Levy are really close, so I would hope a deal could be done."
http://www.ynwa.tv/forum/index.php?showtopic=138011&st=3120

He then backed it up with a link to a post he made 6 weeks previously hinting they were going to move for Keane.

I still thinks it's bollocks, but thought it was worth posting.

It remains my preferred way of avoiding accusing fellow-SC members of being a bunch of big girls (blouses) or active homosexualists.

It's Talkshite! It's the Hate-Mail!

FFS, get a grip, some of you.

"homosexualists"...

Been talking to a scouse colleague of mine and he couldn't believe it when I told him. Just flatly refused to believe Keane would leave us for Liverpool. He also wanted to know where the money would be coming from as they apparently don't have much to spend this summer.
What I don't understand is that the scousers are reluctant to pay 18m for Barry, Crouch wants to leave because he wants guaranteed first team football and now apparently Keane has rushed back from his honeymoon so that they can buy him for 18m:shrug:

I'm sure it is plain shit.

Newspapers can't print anything they like. Oh, wait.....

Yeppers seconded. One big $HIT stain with a scouse accent. Has Benitez even ever scouted a player who doesn't speak fluent Spanish? Roberto Keanez?...

Or better yet Basque -- Robtartiz Aitor Keanekoaotalora

straight from Athletic Club de Bilbao -- Ole!!!

 :p

I hope there is no legs to this rumour. For me there are a handful of untouchables and he is one of them.

While I hope this story isn't true I think as long as we keep one of the two strikers, Berby or Keane we will be alright.

Now if you guys had to choose, Berby or Keane who would you rather lose?? For me it is Keane, as much as I like the guy, (he is on the back of one of my jerseys) Berby is by far the better player, younger, and harder to replace. Saying all that, God I hope we can keep both of them and bring in a def. midfielder and a backup center half and roll on to Aug. :hump:

The Sun story has no direct quotes, I think they might have read a few ITK quotes from our own forum.

Even if there is substane to the transfer, it seems like they're copying yesterdays story from the media. They probably saw it on NewsNow and needed page filler as Cristiano Ronaldo is on his holidays still.

I find it hard to believe that we'd sell Keane. Regardsing the deal, as SS57 has said, Crouch is not a bad player but he's not an improvement on any of our strikers. If we did do a swap deal then I would expect us to bring in someone of higher quality too.

Put yourself in Keanes shoes:

If Ramos adopts a 4-5-1 system next year as most of us believe he will, then Keane wont feature in every game will he. If Rafa is saying 'come and play in the hole...!' and also have the opportunity of Champs league, its a no brainer is it?

Most of us believe that Ramos will adopt a 4-5-1 based on the fact that he's invariably played 4-4-2 as a starting formation here at Spurs and at Sevilla (and for all I know, Malaga, Espanyol, Betis, Rayo and wherever else).

This is gaining a little momentum, if it is BS the club need to say so. I will be worried if there is nothing from them some time today

Exactly. And with the new additions, its possible that Keane wont feature as much as he did last season - its possible.

I think you are right. I can't see GDS and Keane starting many games together. GDS choosed Spurs over Manyoo and Chelski because Ramos promised him to play him as a Nr 10 in a lot of games. Given that this is true, Keane's place is far from being guaranteed.

Is this true? I cant recall. I thought Giovani said that he was promised 1st team football, but no mention of position as far as i'm aware . I would expect him to play on the wing early on in his Spurs career.

I disagree - if the club make a statement re this, then they get themselves into a vicious cycle where they are expected to make a statement on every bit of tittle tattle in the press. Far better to maintain dignified silence whether the rumour is genuine or horseshite.

If it is horseshite it will die a death fairly quickly anyway.

IF (and I really hope this isn't true) we are prepared to let Keane go surely it must mean they are confident Berbatov is staying, I cannot believe we would sell both!

Read the interview with GDS which was published yesterday by many many media.

This is how I see it, all the papers that didn't report it yesterday are picking up on it today. I don't see as anything has change since yesterday, when by all accounts the ITK's were split as to whether this was likely. Just because the rest of the world has picked up on it doesn't mean it is in more/less likely than it was yesterday.

My opinion is that they cannot afford Gareth Barry and Robbie, and seeing as neither us of Villa want to sell I imagine we'll both be looking for cash deals only (no player exchange).
