Would be surprised to see him go as I don't have faith in us signing two forwards, one at a push.

Would be ludicrous to go into the season with Coulthirst as our third striker.

So with a week to go we could potentially have only one recognised striker for our opening game.As bad as Soldado is having him on the bench gave us options.Kane surely won't play both audi cup games

It's funny how all our recent "exciting" transfer news has been the waste of spaces we have been trying to get rid of. Shows what truly horrendous transfer business we have done in recent years.

With just a couple of fairly cheap exceptions, we really did flush the Bale money down the toilet.

I don't think we'll have a third striker, I think we'll buy a WF and a Striker, who can technically play in both positions- so it will be more like 2 more attacking additions than 2 out-and-out strikers...

With the way things were last season, with Adebayor missing, and Soldado not trusted, it's virtually no difference.

Kane never started playing until November. That's a lot of football. He will need a rest and will get injured at some point. We may end up seeing Chadli playing as a striker in an important few games and fans will talk about that being the catalyst for failure. Won't matter to baldy though will it.

Exactly. I'd buy an experienced striker who you know will offer you something different in games when required. Might not play a lot, but will effect the game without setting the world a light when called upon.
Stephen Fletcher for example, Lambert could have. Llorente ideally. Kane, Berahino and a player of that ilk as our front 3 would do me.

It's interesting how peoples perceptions have changed. When we first bought the players everyone thought that if just 2 or 3 of the players came good then it was good business - sell one get 3. Now it is all wasted money. I know opinions are varied but in my thinking, we got Erikson (3rd in goals last season, 22 since being bought), Chadli, (2nd in goals last season) bearing in mind Spurs were the ONLY Prem team with 3 double digit goal scorers, and Lamela (lead team in assists last season) who I think after an injury filled first season is still a developing young player who while has not fulfilled his price tag (which he cannot be held accountable for) we come good and be an important player this year.

Ok, so no superstars but 3 contributing players. Let the berating begin!

Damed Villarreal, couldn't they have just offered us Vietto in a straight swap... they had to go sell him to Atletico.

Think about it, I like Bobby as a player. But the way we play, is just not for him or us. If we can get a decent price and replacement then I would not think twice

The champagne is going on ice tomorrow in [unduly optimistic?] anticipation. Hope I don't have too long to wait before I can pop the cork.

Another one gone it seems, and no incomings pending yet.

Down to 1 striker, and Berahino seems miles away from signing at the moment o_O

Imagine if we could get shot of Sodalldo and Barndoor in the same week. Our share price would rocket if we still had one.
