To be fair to Robbo, a lot of people, myself included, were annoyed that every time he comes for a cross, he punches rather than catching.

I guess we know the reason why now.

We don't think he plays bad for England we know he plays bad for England. It's not because he is surrounded by rubbish players but because like most of the England team he only cares about the club that is paying his stupidly high wage packet.

Look at our Euro 2008 qualifying group. Gerrard could have been surrounded by players from the Championship and I would still expect him to dominate the midfield area against the likes of Macedonia.

The difference between a legend and a good (maybe great) player is the ability to play brilliantly when surrounded by lower quality team mates. Look at Klinsmann during his time with us. He had the likes of Stephen Clemence, Ramon Vega and Ruel Fox as team mates, yet he still was a brilliant player for the club.

Also with the whole 'play him with hargreaves sitting and watch him go' we should surely play Lampard instead of Gerrard then?

Gerrard has played 286 games for Liverpool and scored 51 goals whilst Lampard has played less games for Chelsea but still scored more. Gerrard has played a couple more games for England than Lampard but Lampard has still scored more.

For the last three seasons Lampard has had more assists than Gerrard and for the last five seasons scored more.
