Has just won the Copa Del Rey with Valencia. That's 7 trophies in 7 years for a fairly young coach :|

He won trophies at Ajax, PSV, Benfica and Valencia, just wow!

Add the 19 trophies he has won as a player that's a total of 26

I didn't know that he had won so much, if Ramos were to ever leave surely Koeman should be in contention to take over. He's a born winner like Ramos is only much younger. Almost took the very youthful Ajax side to the final of the Champion's League even.

This win isnt going to cover up what has been a disastrous season for Valencia. The way he made 3 players that lived for Valencia scapegoats for the seasons bad start was shocking.

The troubles were there before he took over, mostly with the chairman and those 3 players, its still unclear whether Koeman had a problem with them aswell, pretty sure he did with Albelda. But anyway to win a trophy in a country you have never managed in before is a great achievement although their league form has still been pretty shaky. be interesting to see how they do next season when Villa has left

Does that give them a UEFA Cup spot then?

They're sure as hell not going to get it through the league, they're 16th and only 5 points above the drop!

Yeah they are. Should be interesting next season in the UEFA Cup. Valencia and probably Sevilla and AC Milan

Valencia have parted company with coach Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman was axed just 24 hours after Valencia's miserable 5-1 defeat at Athletic Bilbao.

Even the Copa del Rey victory earlier this month was not enough to save Koeman's position as their league form has been woeful.

Koeman took charge with Valencia sitting in fourth, and with high hopes of making a serious push for the title.

But 21 games later Koeman leaves La Mestalla with the club sat in 16th - just two places and two points above the relegation zone.

Valencia chairman Agustin Morera led a board meeting on Monday evening when they confirmed Koeman's departure.

Indeed Morera and his fellow directors have overseen a clearing of the decks as assistants Jose Mari Bakero and Toni Bruins Slot have also gone along with sports director Miguel Angel Ruiz and technical director Antonio Fernandez.

The club have installed Salvador Gonazlez - known simply as 'Voro' - as coach until the end of the season.

Voro will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Jose Manuel Ochotorena over the final five games of the season as Los Che look to secure their place in La Liga.

Koeman has finally got the chop then. Valencia, like Zaragoza are still very close to the drop zone, could be an interesting summer if either one of those two go down.

The most terrifying scenario of the season was Ramos turning us down and this ridiculously overrated tosser coming to replace Jol instead.

Would love Valencia to go down. Despite their dreadful form, they still have some fantastic players that could be up for grabs for very little.

He was good in 'The Prisoner of Zenda' and 'Lost Horizon', I'll give him that. And 'The Thirty-Nine Steps', of course.

You're right, that was Robert Donat. But Madeleine Carroll was in it, and 'The Prisoner of Zenda'. That must be what confused me. Plus they both had 'taches (Donat and Koeman, that is, not Madeleine Carroll).
