Cannot seriously believe people are backing Adey over Redknapp here IF true...its not like Adey to cause problems though is it? so must all be Redknapps fault!!

you lot are proper mental.

Redknapp isn't perfect but its not luck or a continuation of jol's work that got us here, its the fantastic management of Redknapp that has got us here. if you believe otherwise you are seriously seriously deluded by the school of Dan Ashcroft.

Redknapp hasn't helped himself in recent months with the England stuff, he should have put that to bed, or at least said, no more talking about it until season is over. but whats done is done, no need to stab him in the back and belittle what he has achieved here.

the way some people go on its like any wins under Redknapp are pure luck and any loss is all his fault. mindless.

I'm sure the maths has been done somewhere - but what would have cost us more - sacking Harry or not qualifying for Champions League?

There is a good post somewhere in Spurs Chat (sorry mate, can't be more specific as there are so many 'Harry is a ****-related threads), basically saying that the difference between CL and Europa is not as much as sacking Harry and not receiving FA moola, if that makes sense...

Dare I say it, believe this was Harry's first blunder, I was underwhelmed when he brought Defoe & Keane back.
The money could have been spent a lot better.
mental.

Keane effectively saved us from going down and the following Season Defoe's goals fired us to CL.

yeah what a silly decision. #SackHim

Thats ridiculous, Keane was beyond woeful in 95% of the games he played after coming back. We had Liverpool and Portsmouths eyes out respectively with what we got for them two and then bought them back because he didn't have the imagination to find some talent himself. He alienated Bent who has since continued to score bundles of goals, and would have been a far better option over the last 2 seasons in particular when playing 1 up front.

14 pts in 14 games is awful. He has lost the plot, and he's gone back to the excuses just like last season all over again.

And then to blame it on a lack of depth when again, he has alienated the depth himself, just makes him look like a total prat.

In reality Defoe and Keane's contributions fall within the medium of these two extreme views. Keane was a very helpful member of the squad and was one of the reasons we got out of the shit, Defoe's goal did help us in the season we made the CL but they were not the most vital element. Bent was never a real fit for us and despite his ability to score goals he required us to build a team around him which was never going to happen (also Redknapp was hardly too harsh with him saying that Sandra would have scored that header, as the miss was inexcusable).

I think the signing of Palacios was a very influential reason for us getting out of trouble.

The only manager that fits that bill would be Moyes in my opinion. Still relatively young, loads of experience and likely to be the least risky option.

Something draws me to Rodgers though. Very articulate and seems to understand the game brilliantly. If given time and resources he could be a Spurs manager for many years. The only concern is whether he'd get that time and handle the pressure of a big club with expectant fans!

I agree with the Rodgers element

Maybe we have to take a step back in order to take two steps forward. Get Rodgers in and allow him time to sort things out

I don't think anyone is doubting that, but having the old captain back in the ranks making people feel at ease again and giving them belief will no doubt have helped too.

I like Defoe and I think he is a good player but not for a top four team, certainly not one who identified that 4-4-2 is not the way to go. Why do we insist on keeping him when we play a formation that is not suited to his play. He is much better at a mid table club where he is playing every game and scoring for fun, a bit like Bent. I know Defoe has got us plenty of goals this season but we have to change our system to make room for him and he is just not that special to warrant that.

If Harry realised last season 4-5-1/4-4-1-1 was the formation to play then why did we not do more in the summer to bring in another lone striker like Adebayor, because Defoe isn't one and Pav was not going to play much because Harry obviously didn't like him.

I would sleep better knowing that we have a younger Manager (Rodgers) in place building the squad rather than Harry who won't come out and say 'I am staying at Tottenham' because he is on his way!

Yeah for sure, it was a combination of things.

Whilst I agree with what you're saying, in that at the time Keane and Defoe helped us, what's the point of using the Twitter hashtag? Is it just impossible for people to speak without referring to social networking sites anymore?

One thing I will say, for the money we spent on Keane & Defoe, whilst they did the job we signed them to do at the time (keep us in the PL!), they could have been expected to do a little more than what they have done. Especially Keane. Defoe we know has his limits. He's a poacher type goalscorer that will smash in a 20 yard shot with little backlift, but he's not the type of striker that will terrorise and occupy CB's or propel a team into the title contention with his talent.

As for the Harry & Ade bust up, well I think it's possible. But I trust Archibald more than the Twitter rumours. If (and it's a big if) such a bust up has occurred, the thing to blame is the England speculation. Whilst a bust up can happen anywhere, I think the players seeing Harry isn't committed to THFC, have lost some respect for him, maybe without realising it. Knowing the man you're playing for won't be there for the start of the next season can't be a good thing for morale. It can't be a coincidence that the minute Harry was accquitted and linked to the England job we've gone tits up bar the 5-0 Newcastle win. Arguably, if this row has happened, Ade, a loanee with a bad reputation in terms of personality, could be argued to have shown more committment than our manager of nearly 4 years.

I would hope there has been some crossed words from the manager and the players over the last two months. At least it shows they care.

He hasnt lost the dressing room either btw

Need a few breaks and lets make this CL!!

It's seems he has lost his coaching staff though as it seems to be his way or no way.(aka tactics, formations etc)
