Did you read the statement? And did you understand it? Im gonna assume no. Surgery on the skull. He has a skull fracture. Do you have any idea how serious that is?!?The Mirror were spouting bullshit then. What a horrible rag.

Get well soon Mase!! Thoughts are with you and your family, stay strong!!! @RyanMason
There's no way he could've known it wasn't just a precaution. He's a professional and shouldn't be blamed whatsoever.Didn't stop him celebrating his goal! His first thoughts should have been for the bloke in the ambulance.
Surgery on the skull/brain is very serious. It could well be the end of his career but all that matters is that he recovers and is able to have a life.
But he may well be fighting for his life. The surgery might have been removing part of his skull because of brain inflammation and "stable" might mean he's in an induced coma.

There is nothing in that statement that leads me to believe the situation is as critical as the mirror reported. We'll know for sure tomorrow, but Hull's social media team will have done a very bad job if that proves to be the case.
Yeah, that was my take as well.Doesn't it say we expect him to be in hospital for the next few days. Sounds like the op was minor and they want to keep him in for 72 hours for observation.
If he was in a coma then they wouldn't be putting time frames of a few days on it, I doubt they would put any time frame on it at all.
