I think carroll stayed because there was not any decent offer for him in summer...Shame really, I said it when he left and I'll say it again, rather he stayed and Tom Carroll floated away

Right now? Nothing. He provides an extra body in training. He is not blocking anyone, and he does not appear to be progressing himself.
I think Poch told him he would not play last summer, and Carroll opted to stay and try to fight for a spot. It has not worked out for him, and I expect he will welcome a move in January.
Any chance that Carrol stayed because we need a squad and you can't fill a squad with top class players earning £70k a week.
Not sure where the hate comes from with him, he's never let us down when called upon, clearly is technically gifted but is a little small for a Poch team.
Looks like he knows his place and will step up if needed, he should be applauded.

Lovely to see they all got a good reception, Daws particuarly, love that guy...
Who has shown hate for him?
Of course Daws isn't on Twitter. Neither is Scott Parker, for that matter. Two of my favourites this era and both incredibly similar people who know that its all a load of conflated bollocks.I see Mason tweeted his thanks, did Dawson do the same ? Maybe he's not on twitter ?

You're fucking kidding surely?

yup. I remember Daws doing one of those quickfire 20 questions thingies, and he was asked 'twitter or facebook' [brief pause] 'neither'.
... just one of those little things, ya know ... confirmation that this is a bloke worth liking - even if I've never met him and never likely will.
There was never any hate. He was just never ever good enough and we messed about with him for far too long
Winks impressed in a fraction of TC's game time
The sad thing about Mason's move is that it is not working out. Hull fans think he is a poor.
Really hoping he can hit form and show people the player he can be. When he first came into our side he clearly improved it.
Looked like him and Bentaleb would be our midfield for the next five years,
.
its no surprise really. he has failed wherever he has been
And where I was. I gave him a loud cheer because I've always loved the guy. Totally Tottenham through and through. Always gave 100% and a really nice guy with it. Just a shame he wasn't a good fit for the current way of playing. Also that he just missed out on his testimonial.Daws definitely did get a great reception. Probably the biggest cheer of the night when his name was read out where I was.
I'd disagree, i'd suggest that Winks didn't get the run in the starting eleven that Mason did and hasn't had the opportunity to be a part of a weak showing by the team yet. TC had a run for us in Europe a couple of years back and the most common phrase was "He needs to bulk up" as the oppo had figured out he weighed the same as kitchen roll. When Winks finds himself running out at the start for a few weeks on the bounce and doesn't produce something magic, he'll get the same ribbing Mason and Steve Rogers got/get for their efforts i expect.
It's the same with all players trying to establish themselves in the first team; no-one is on form for 38 games a season and our fans can be pretty ruthless if you turn up with anything but your a-game.
