I have the barca game on now and Eto'o is not playing. Haven't seen the subs though, by the way, did SSN really say Eto'o was at the lane or did you just add that to give it some flavour?

ive being watching ssn the last hour and no a word

Modric was at the lane today watching the game. Caught a picture of him on the big screen just after the half time whistle.

Very much doubt that Eto'o was there today. It would be a bad idea for him to be there today on a match day if they want to keep the negotiations secret.

I'd be amazed if he was there, I think it's probably just chinese whispers.

Actually if he was there, you'd have to think the deal had already been done.

Why?

A couple of years ago Dave was spotted in the stands, there were even photos and that wasn't a done deal either.

Co's I don't think Eto'o would be sitting at any english teams ground during match day when his own team was playing.

Well no nor do I. I was just questioning the logic as it wouldn't be the first time that a player had been spotted in the stands when they aren't signed. Of course I doubt Eto'o was there when Barca were playing.

It's not unbelievable considering Barcelona rested many of the their first team with an eye on the CL game in Manchester. This would suggest that Eto'o could well already be in the country and wanted to take a game in and having nothing to do with signing for THFC.

Messi was at the F1 qualifying today.

I really doubt it, we aen't really a public club when itcomes to transfer dealings (EXCEPT MANAGERS!).

If Eto'o were to come it would almost certainly me the end for Mr Berbatov

But if true, an attacking dual of Berbs and Eto'o would run riot in any defence with Modric creating the chances for them.

would be amazing but I see that the only way we can finance a deal for eto'o and barca can finance one for berba is this way. The days of transfers of 25mil+ aren't there anymore, very few clubs are willing to pay the big bucks, for only the very best players (ie. Madrid and Ronaldo, Kaka etc.) even the mighty AC Milan are very cautious

Surprised no-one noticed him enjoying a pre-match pint in the B&H with Elvis and Lord Lucan before mounting his trusty steed Shergar and riding up to the Lane.

Barca lost 2-0 to Deportivo, who are now breathing down Sevilla's neck for sixth spot.

What if Berbatov was swapping with Eto'o, would that be out of the question?
