Surprised no-one noticed him enjoying a pre-match pint in the B&H with Elvis and Lord Lucan before mounting his trusty steed Shergar and riding up to the Lane.

Barca lost 2-0 to Deportivo, who are now breathing down Sevilla's neck for sixth spot.

We saw him, he was in with us in the SC group seats - that's why the camera missed him!!

I am pretty sure, I saw Ruud Boy sitting at the Paxton end .....

That was Ronaldo, get it right!!

To be fair there would have been enough cameras trained on the executive box for Modric, that if someone like Eto'o was there, someone would have a picture. It's one of those things which can't really be a rumour, because it would be harder to prevent someone getting a pic than for hundreds of people in the west stand to see. I mean christ, Calum Davenport was sat behind me in the East Stand before he left and enough people noticed that. So he either was or wasn't, and I'd have to say there is a good chance he wasn't. However, hats off if evidence does come out, but it would only prove my point!

I don't believe he was there, but I do believe we could sign him!! We are a more powerful team that people think in my opinion!!

are you serious??? i'd carry berba to spain on my back for a straight swap!!

Eto'o is not better than Berbatov. He is a goalscorer, that's all.
:duh: Dude you haven't watched him then. That is so far off the mark.

Seems harsh on the fella. He is involved in loads of creative play, and even if he was just a goalscorer that a great thing to be!

Ah, you've seen him. He is probably the most complete forward in the world at the moment.

Eto'o's an awesome striker. He does the simple things better than any of our strikers have since Klinsmann probably. He would be immense with Berba, but I'm afraid I could only see him as Berba's replacement, and realistically I can't see him playing for us at all.

yeah, but if you'd asked me a couple of days ago, i'd not have expected to get the chance to see Modric in a Spurs shirt, the amount of teams touted to be after him

never say never, screwfoot

*eyes water uP* I second that, Eto'o would never sign for us, solid gold fact.

It's a little more realistic for us to sign a first team regular from Dinamo Zagreb than it is for us to sign a first regular from Barcelona though, isn't it?

Why all the fuss, can't a guy take in a game during a weekend off? No need to read anything into it.

Look alikes.

The president of my lawn bowling club who is an Aussie looks exactly like Saddam Hussein down to the beard.

I think I'd rather have Eto'o because his sheer pace and explosive quality (no combustion jokes) would make such a bigger impact that Berba

Look at Torres, he isnt that creatve, just very quick and a great finisher - much like Eto'o.

I think someone like Eto'o would genuinely make s a top 4 threat but it's never ever ever gonna happen. Eto'o sid he would leave if Barca didn't beat man utd (ie win the CL as he has conceded the title is Madrids), he wants to win trophies and erm...we have 2 since 1991!

BUT I see that the price commanded for Eto'o could only be payable by Chelski and Man Utd - and maybe us if we swap/sell Berba

I can only see us buying another quality striker only if Ramos is prepared to break up the Keane / Berbatov partnership.

Who could you see sitting on the bench out of Berba, Keane, or Eto'o, and that is discounting Bent altogether!?

Not exactly the hardest question in the world, is it?

Are you having a laugh? You cannot seriously be struggling to think who would miss out?

I might have to change my team to a 4-4-2 for eto'o

With great power comes great responsibility...

So, I assume we all reckon Eto'o's good then. And no one agrees with Guillame Balague that he has been noticeably slower and less effective over the past 12-18 months, resulting in him scoring a grand total of 2 CL goals in the past 2 seasons (yes, yes I know about his injuries. They've hardly been Bale or King-esque though, eh?).

I have probably seen Barca half a dozen times this season, plus various highlights. I'm far from suggesting Eto'o is crap. He's not. He's very good. But if you're asking me whether he would immediately break up a 55-goal strong partnership or dislodge the top scoring English striker in recent Premier League history as back-up, when players such as Essien, Drogba, etc took at least half a year to settle, I think you're being a bit over-optimistic.

has anyone got any idea if he was actually there??

I think we are generally agreed he wasn't. However it seems we are also agreed that his lack of presence at the Lane has no impact on the slim chance we may sign him!

I'm not particularly excited at taking Eto'o as a Berbs replacement.

Aguerro (sp) or Villa if we're gonna raid spain. By all means Eto'o can come aswell. I'm very liberal.

To be honest, it might be better to NOT be reliant on one player as our playmaker and goalscorer together.
Modric is a step towards addressing that, and IF Eto'o is coming (and I have to say I have heard of a sighting today at Spurs which quite frankly astounded me as the source never puts that sort of stuff around) then it is a clear statement by Ramos that there is no 'i' in 'team' if you know what I mean!!!
