Or they realise they can sell him for more at a later date. Let's be honest the buybacks both Barca and Madrid use are completely one sided, and hold zero benefit to the buying club.
Can't imagine Levy going anywhere near this unless the buy back clause is dropped. He doesn't rent, he buys.

Maximising the deal in our favour is without a doubt Levy's strong point. I can't see for one minute he'd sign a player whose future was under someone else's control. Just remember his stance on third party ownership for proof of this.

This storey's starting to hit the mainstream outlets now- either something is happening or they've had a lazy Christmas and are trawling websites for stories. Can't see him and Berahino both coming when neither are out and out CFs

Never know he could turn out to be quite the opposite to soldado, hes not done much there except loose value...not even on loan with option to buy? Mind he would still cost a lot.

Obviously a buy-back clause is annoying but it's only gonna get activated if he turns out to be truly outstanding. I'm pretty sure Deulofeu still has one active in his contract, and he's been fantastic this season but are Barca that bothered about bringing him back? I'd be all for this kid even with a buy-back, as he'd have to become something approaching world-class for Barca even to consider using it.
Actually what they do is activate the buy back clause to sell on at a profit.

Eg sell us Sandro for £5m with a buy back for £8m. He has a successful 2 years but not going to play first team for Barca they then sell him straight on for £20m. Real have also done it in the past.

I for one don't reslly rate him, probably their third best attacking academy player behind munir and sergi Roberto. If we were to go for one of Barca's academy players then I think rafinha (thiago's brother) would be awesome but we don't really need him.

Oh I used to do this quite often in previous editions of FM.:greyalien:

From what I've seen, the Barca fans are unanimous in saying he's better than Munir.

Their opinions by far outweigh mine, however i think munir has a lot more technical ability than Sandro and that's why I rate him higher. Neither of them score goals though, nor do they create many. Probably hard to do when you only come on for 10mins at the end of games but from what I've seen barca seem to rate munir more highly out of the two because he generally comes on for these cameo appearances whialt I don't see Sandro as much. That's only from the games that I have watched though.

If we are to buy or loan a striker this window we need to get someone who is proven at PL level, not a "prospect" or someone who has a record of no goals this season.

That's not to say we shouldn't be generally buying players for their potential, but our need at this present moment in time is different.

It is worth also pointing out that Barça have just sold Alejandro Grimaldo, left back and captain of the B team, to Benfica for about £1.1m.

No buy back clause but there is a percentage of future sale. Far from guaranteed that a deal with Sandro would have to have a buy back in it. However, I concede that this how Barça and Madrid roll typically.
